Andrew Garfield addresses major Spider-Man: Brand New Day trailer theory

Andrew Garfield has responded to a fan theory circulating online about his potential appearance in the upcoming Spider-Man: Brand New Day movie. Following the release of the first trailer, some viewers believed a scene had been altered to hide certain characters, a tactic Marvel Studios has used in the past.

In this scene, Spider-Man is fighting ninjas. However, looking closely, the ninjas are positioned lower than Spider-Man, suggesting there’s space for other characters to appear in the shot below him and actor Tom Holland.

Many fans are wondering if characters like Mark Ruffalo’s Hulk or Sadie Sink’s character – who some think is Jean Grey – might be the ones missing from the project.

Some fans think Andrew Garfield and Tobey Maguire, who have both played Spider-Man before, might appear in the movie to fill the open role.

Even though it might sound unbelievable, Marvel actually edited the trailer for Spider-Man: No Way Home in 2021 to remove Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield. They did this to keep their surprise cameos a secret.

During an interview on Capital FM’s Breakfast Show, Garfield addressed the theory, saying, “To be honest, that seems like a bit of a stretch.”

Honestly, I was so confused when they said there was room for more characters! It’s like, all the extra space is right under Spider-Man, so I don’t see how it works!

The actor added: “There’s room for more characters in every frame of the film probably.”

Okay, so the reporter kept pushing, and Garfield totally lost it, calling the whole line of questioning a ridiculous conspiracy theory! It was hilarious. But here’s the kicker – when he was done ranting, he pointed out he never actually denied being involved. Seriously, the cat is a master of dodging the question!

Meanwhile, Sadie Sink previously addressed the rumours that her character is the MCU’s Jean Grey.

The actor explained to Entertainment Weekly that the rumors started circulating before they even knew they’d been cast in the project. They were surprised and wondered what people were discussing.

She mentioned that many people overlook the fact that hair color can change, but she acknowledged she understands the theories about her and Grey having similar shades.

She said people will need to wait for things to unfold, and she’s hopeful it will all be resolved soon.
