Readers who love Anne Rice’s work have a new series to look forward to, and it could be just what the franchise needed.
AMC is reviving a popular format with the new talk show, The Vampire Lestat: After Dark, which will debut with a special episode on May 24th, according to TV Insider. Similar to AMC’s The Talking Dead, the half-hour show will be hosted by Lizzie Bassett. Each episode will give fans an inside look at the series, featuring interviews with the cast and creators of The Vampire Lestat.
Why AMC’s The Vampire Lestat: After Dark Is So Exciting
Ben Davis, AMC’s head of scripted programming, announced the new series After Dark as a companion to The Vampire Lestat. He explained that After Dark is meant to enhance the viewing experience for the show’s dedicated fans by offering an in-depth look at the series’ mythology and behind-the-scenes footage with the cast and creators. It will reveal the making of the stories, characters, and key moments of the new season.
I’m really excited for the preview of The Vampire Lestat: After Dark on AMC on May 24th! It’s a bit different from how they’ve released things like The Talking Dead, though. It seems like only a few episodes will air on AMC itself, but the good news is that all of them will be available to stream on AMC+. I’m glad we’ll still be able to see everything!
The first episode of The Vampire Lestat: After Dark will feature appearances by Jacob Anderson, Sam Reid, Eric Bogosian, showrunner Rolin Jones, and executive producer Mark Johnson. The episode will mainly focus on the show’s transition from its previous title, Interview with the Vampire.
What’s Next for the Immortal Universe on AMC?
Although The Vampire Lestat is coming to AMC on June 7th, that’s not the only show planned for this year from Anne Rice’s Immortal Universe. Fans can also anticipate Season 3 of The Mayfair Witches, which will continue the story right after the events of Season 2 and could lead to a full-scale conflict between the show’s main groups. When announcing the renewal for Season 3, AMC shared that the new season will delve deeper into the world of witchcraft, introduce new families with magical powers, and explore historical events from Salem, the town famous for its witch trials and legends.
Fans are still excited for news about Night Island, a short series inspired by Anne Rice’s The Queen of the Damned. It’s about two daring thieves who try to steal a valuable painting, not realizing the island is inhabited by supernatural creatures.
The Vampire Lestat premieres on AMC on June 7.
