Amanda Seyfried says she ‘values herself differently’ now she’s 40 and insists she has ‘nothing to prove to Hollywood’ as she poses for a striking new shoot: ‘I’m embracing myself in this new decade’

Amanda Seyfried turned 40 in December and is excited to fully enjoy the years ahead.

The actress is currently very busy with her career, as two of her films, The Housemaid and The Testament of Ann Lee, are being released close together. She even received a Golden Globe nomination for her work in The Testament of Ann Lee.

In a recent interview with PORTER magazine, Amanda shared her thoughts on turning a new age. She admitted she’s now accepting herself more fully than she thought possible when she was younger.

‘I kind of value myself a little differently in that, wow, I got here and I’m doing OK.’

Even though Amanda is busy with challenging and intense new acting roles, she’s no longer stressed by the demands of Hollywood.

I’ve reached a point where I’m no longer trying to impress anyone in Hollywood or gain approval from my colleagues or the industry in general. Actually, if I were still trying to prove myself, I think I’d feel much more satisfied.

Amanda stars in the movie version of Freida McFadden’s popular thriller, The Housemaid, playing Nina Winchester, a rich woman whose mental state unravels throughout the story. She appears alongside Sydney Sweeney.

Speaking about the role she explained it allowed her to push boundaries like she never has before.

‘I got to explore my rage in a way that I’ve never gotten to do. I owe it so much.’

Amanda showcased her legs in a recent photoshoot, wearing a red dress with a high slit.

During a quick movement for the photo, the celebrity briefly exposed her brightly colored, high-cut underwear.

She turned heads again, this time in a stunning leopard print coat with a soft brown fur collar. She paired it with a simple vest top and a pale pink skirt featuring a fluffy trim.

Although Amanda’s job involves a lot of glamour, she’s decided to raise her kids outside the flashy world of California entertainment.

Actress Amanda Seyfried lives in the small town of Stone Ridge, New York, with her husband, Thomas Sadoski, and their two children, eight-year-old Nina and five-year-old Thomas. They share their home with a variety of animals, including their dog Finn, a goat, a pig, four chickens, a rooster, and two rescued cats.

She told PORTER that her family life is far removed from the typical glitz and glamour of Hollywood. Her children understand she’s a well-known actress, and seeing her on television is just a normal part of their lives.

They feel secure and private in their own homes, and for them, that’s the most important thing.

Speaking about how her daughter reacts to her fame she said: ‘I think she’s more curious about it.

She’s very observant, so she’ll quickly notice if anyone is photographing me, even in a crowded room.

‘It’s not that she’s uncomfortable, she’s just a little bit protective of me in that way.’

After feeling overlooked at the Golden Globes, Amanda recently downplayed the significance of an Oscar, questioning whether people could even remember past winners.

I was so thrilled when Amanda Seyfried got nominated for a Best Supporting Actress Oscar in 2021! She absolutely deserved it for her amazing performance in Mank. I thought she was fantastic!

This year, she also received nominations for her work in The Testament of Ann Lee from both the Golden Globes and the Critics Choice Awards.

But Amanda has now insisted she doesn’t need the accolade to sustain a successful career.

Amanda told The New Yorker that an Oscar nomination is what really launches your career. She questioned whether people could even recall the past ten winners, highlighting how quickly things are forgotten.

She wondered if she needed something in a week or two, but quickly dismissed the thought. While it would be nice to have, she realized it wasn’t essential.
