Almost 16 Years Later, Highschool of the Dead Finally Returns With New 2026 Release

After almost twenty years, the provocative high school horror series is returning with a brand new release.

Fujimi Shobo, a Japanese publisher, is teaming up with CTW Cayman to launch a new game on G123, the most popular H5 gaming platform. The game will be released on April 28, 2026, and can be played on any smartphone, tablet, or computer with a web browser.

The manga High School of the Dead was created by Daisuke Sato (writer) and Shoji Sato (artist) and ran from August 9, 2006, to April 9, 2013. Sadly, Daisuke Sato passed away from illness in March 2017, leading to the cancellation of the unfinished series.

High School of the Dead Day 0: Tower Defense Zombie Game With High School Beauties

CTW Cayman announced the release of a new game based on the anime High School of the Dead. The game lets players experience exciting, fast-paced battles where they fight off hordes of zombies repeatedly.

In this tower defense game, you play as Takashi Komuro in a world overrun by mysterious creatures known as ‘Them’. It’s easy to pick up and play with simple touch controls, but offers challenging battles where your decisions matter. Build your team around Takashi and fight to survive!

One of the best things about this game is that you can unlock new characters to play as simply by progressing through the story – you don’t need to rely on random chance or spend any money. This lets you build your ideal team without any extra cost.

According to official reports, Fujimi High School has become a terrifying scene of chaos due to an invasion by a group called ‘Them.’ They’ve been attacking students and staff, both consuming and infecting them.

Takashi Komuro, along with his childhood friend Rei Miyamoto and best friend Hisashi Igou, find shelter in what has become a terrifying school. Unfortunately, while shielding Rei, Hisashi is bitten and begins to transform into one of the infected creatures…

I watched as the last two people who made it joined up with Saya Takagi, Kota Hirano, Saeko Busujima – the head of the kendo club – and the school doctor, Shizuka Marikawa. They were all set on getting out of the school, and I couldn’t help but wonder if they had any chance of actually making it.
