In Monster Hunter Wilds, the quantity of Wyverns may not match that of previous games in the series, but there’s still ample opportunity to locate and collect them for their parts and specific Wyvern missions. The game assumes you are already familiar with Wyverns and does not provide a clear introduction or guidance on where to find them.
We’ve made it easier for you by compiling all the Wyverns from Monster Hunter Wilds right here in this guide, so you don’t have to spend time searching!
Monster Hunter Wilds: All Wyverns
In the original release of MH Wilds, there are only three types of Wyverns compared to the five categories found in Monster Hunter. However, as Capcom continues to roll out free updates for the game, more Wyvern types may be added. For now, you’ll primarily encounter Bird Wyverns, Brute Wyverns, and Flying Wyverns. It’s worth noting that while Ebony Odogaron is classified as a Fanged Wyvern in other Monster Hunter games, the version found in Wilds falls under the Construct category instead.
Monster Hunter Wilds: Brute Wyverns

Brute Wyverns are birdlike monsters, but have no flight ability.
- Rompopolo – Oilwell Basin
 - Quematrice – Windward Plains, Ruins of Wyveria

Monster Hunter Wilds: Bird Wyverns

As a gamer, I can tell you that the fearsome Bird Wyverns of the Wilds don’t show up until you’ve advanced to high rank and wrapped up the main storyline. During my initial adventures in the first three chapters, these beasts were nowhere to be found.
- Yan Kut-Ku – Scarlet Forest, Iceshard Cliffs
 - Gypceros – Windward Cliffs (fallow), Oilwell Basin, Iceshard Cliffs, Ruins of Wyveria

Monster Hunter Wilds Flying Wyverns

In the Wilds, Wyverns flying are the most common type, although Rathalos, Gravios, and Rathian aren’t found except in advanced hunting zones. Arkveld, however, won’t appear as a hunt-able monster until you reach chapter six.
- Rey Dau – Windward Plains (Sandtide)
 - Arkveld – Windward Plains, Scarlet Forest, Oilwell Basin, Iceshard Cliffs, Ruins of Wyveria
 - Rathalos – Scarlet Forest, Oilwell Basin, Ruins of Wyveria
 - Rathian – Windward Plains, Scarlet Forest
 - Gravios – Oilwell Basin, Ruins of Wyveria
