All of the major deaths in The Boys season 4

As someone who has followed The Boys since its inception, I must admit that season 4 took my breath away with the sheer number of unexpected and tragic deaths. Having grown attached to many of these characters over the years, it was heart-wrenching to see them meet their untimely ends.

The Boys season 4 is an especially brutal season of the series. In terms of overall death and destruction, The Boys season 4 is similar to the other seasons of the series. In terms of political division, nothing comes close to the new season of the series. 

On Thursday, July 18, the fourth episode of The Boys season 4 was made available for viewing. Upon reviewing the casualties, we’ve discovered that this season has seen a significant number of major character deaths.

Spoilers ahead for The Boys season 4!

Who dies in The Boys season 4? 

In the fourth season of “The Boys,” I estimate that there are at least 14 significant character deaths, not counting the lesser-known or unnamed individuals who also met their end. Approximately two dozen such deaths occurred.

We shared the list of deaths in chronological-ish order.

Todd and the two other Homelander fans 

In the opening scene of “The Boys” season 4, Todd and two other devoted Homelander fans were summoned by Sage to an undisclosed Vought facility. Upon their arrival, they were surprised to find A-Train, Deep, and Black Noir present. Orchestrated by Homelander and Sage, the four men brutally took the lives of Todd and his companions. Later, their bodies were transported to the courthouse. To stir up chaos, Sage instigated a conflict between Homelander supporters and Starlights. A-Train was then instructed to hasten Todd’s corpse and those of the two others to the scene, creating the illusion that they had been killed during the riot caused by the Starlights. This marked the beginning of an explosive situation in “The Boys” season 4 premiere.

Koy 

In this scenario, Koy serves as the stunt coordinator, preparing for Ryan’s initial rescue. During practice sessions, Ryan holds back his full power. However, when it comes to the real deal, Ryan unleashes his strength. In the scene, Koy assumes the role of a criminal taking a hostage. As Ryan arrives to save the day, Homelander unexpectedly shows up, causing annoyance. Instead of just disarming Koy and freeing the hostage, Ryan hurls him a significant distance, sending Koy crashing into a building.

Splinter

At Truth Con in the fourth season’s second episode, MM, Butcher, Frenchie, and Kimiko are attacked by Splinter and his duplicates, who all suffer from new cases of pink eye. However, Sage and Firecracker manage to make it through, but unfortunately, Splinter and his replicas meet their end when Butcher fatally stabs the original Splinter in the head.

The Vought on Ice cast

In episode 3 of “The Boys,” not many major characters meet their end. During this installment, Homelander attempts to eliminate Hughie as he maneuvers through the rafters and heating ducts above the Vought on Ice rehearsal space. Thankfully for Hughie, Mother’s Milk (MM) enters the scene and disrupts the stage lights, causing Homelander’s lasers to misfire. Unfortunately, some members of the Vought on Ice troupe are fatally injured by Homelander’s errant laser beams during the ensuing confusion.

Ezekiel 

At first glance, it seems that Starlight could murder Firecracker in the fourth installment, and Ezekiel may end up killing Frenchie in the same episode. Later on, it appears that Ezekiel will be the one to eliminate Butcher. However, an unexpected turn of events occurs: In reality, it’s Ezekiel who meets a grisly demise in episode 4. When Butcher discovers Ezekiel attempting to strangle Frenchie in his trailer, he struggles to resist him. With Butcher on the brink of death, something shifts inside him. The next instant is filled with bloodshed, and Ezekiel is reduced to fragments. Butcher later claims ignorance regarding the incident, but we soon learn that he was fully conscious of his actions!

Hugh Campbell, Sr.

In the fifth episode of season 4, Hugh Campbell Sr., commonly referred to as Hughie’s father, recovers from being injected with Compound V in episode 4 and experiences a brief spell of well-being. However, this good feeling is short-lived as the compound takes hold, granting him unwanted powers and erasing his memories. In a tragic turn of events, he ends up killing multiple people at the hospital before Hughie and his ex-wife, Daphne, are forced to end his suffering.

Cameron Coleman 

In the fifth episode of season 4, talk show host Cameron Coleman meets his demise. He is exposed as the traitor at Vought who threatens major plans, such as Homelander and Sage’s scheme, by Ashley and A-Train. After V52, Homelander challenges the loyalty of the Supes at Vought by requesting them to kill Cameron Coleman. The Supes comply without hesitation.

Everyone killed by the V’d up farm animals

At Stan Edgar’s former property, several minor characters met their demise following the escape of Compound V from Sameer’s control. This occurred when V-affected farm animals, such as sheep and chickens, attacked and killed them after the substance seeped into the groundwater.

Tek Knight 

As a gamer, I can’t believe how chaotic and messy the party at Tek Knight’s mansion was in episode six. It’s amazing that only one person actually met their end. Though MM had a fake heart attack, Annie tranquilized Firecracker, Sage got shot in the head, and Hughie went through a lot, it was Tek Knight who ultimately paid the price. After mercilessly tormenting Hughie throughout the entire episode, Tek Knight met his demise at the hands of his butler. Revealing his plan to use his jails to imprison Homelander’s political adversaries was a fatal mistake.

Ambrosius 

In season 4, one death that deeply affected me was that of Ambrosius, Deep’s octopus partner. Deep has had a troubled past, but this incident was particularly distressing. During episode 7, following an argument between Deep and Ambrosius concerning Sage, Deep destroyed her glass enclosure, leading to her suffocation on the floor of his closet. This act was truly disturbing.

Webweaver 

In the fourth season of “The Boys,” Webweaver didn’t have a major role, but he played a crucial part in revealing Homelander and Sage’s scheme to the team. During episode 7, Homelander and Firecracker interrogated Webweaver about collaborating with Butcher, MM, and the Boys. However, when pressed, Webweaver’s web fluid leaked out of his hole, irritating Homelander who retaliated by tearing Webweaver in two.

Victoria Neuman

In the finale of season 4, I was completely taken aback when Butcher, having gained new superpowers, brutally split Victoria in two. She had agreed to collaborate with Hughie and MM against Homelander and Vought. This death was undeniably the most startling of the entire season, leaving me eagerly anticipating how Butcher’s storyline unfolds next.

Despite being trouble, Victoria is a standout character in “The Boys” series that I’ll sadly be saying goodbye to in season 5.

Grace Mallory 

Personally, I’ve always felt that Grace Mallory was walking on thin ice in “The Boys.” Her relentless defiance against Homelander left her in a precarious position. So, when it came down to it, it wasn’t surprising that Ryan, someone she held dear and who reciprocated her feelings, ended up being the one to take her life.

Shifter Annie 

For two successive episodes, the chameleon-like Supervillain managed to elude capture by The Boys. However, in the end, he abducted Annie and assumed her identity, attempting to assassinate President Singer. Fortunately, the genuine Annie reappeared just in time to strangle Shifter Annie before she could harm Singer and the entire team of Boys guarding him.

Almost everyone at Vought 

In the final episode of season 4, several beloved characters from Vought are bid farewell. While no major characters meet their end in the Vought Massacre at the hands of Deep, Black Noir, and Firecracker, the scene is still deeply unsettling. Following the revelation that Victoria is a Superspective being, Homelander orders Ashley to compile a list of all employees not loyal to him. Tragically, everyone on this list is then brutally murdered by Deep, Black Noir, and Firecracker. This scene is truly shocking.

In “The Boys” season 4, those are the notable deaths we recall. The episode was filled with fatalities and damage, yet the Boys managed to survive. With them still among the living, there’s hope they’ll bring down Homelander and Vought.
