All Character Grief Passives & Stat Bonuses In Elden Ring Nightreign
In my adventures through Elden Ring: Nightreign, I’ve stumbled upon remnants of fallen comrades from different realms. These remnants yield whatever items their spirit carried, but there’s something unusual – a Grief stat. This additional attribute might seem inconsequential at first glance, but under specific circumstances, it could very well be the deciding factor in my triumph.
Grief stats might appear simple at first glance, but their true value can vary greatly. They could be incredibly useful or virtually irrelevant, depending on specific circumstances. This tutorial delves into the advantages of these passive Grief stats, explains when you should prioritize them, and provides insight on evaluating the Grief stats offered by each Nightfarer in the game Nightreign.
This version aims to maintain a clear and natural flow of language while still conveying the original meaning effectively.
What Are Grief Stats?
A “Grief” stat is a passive ability on certain weapons that increases your base stats (like Strength, Dexterity, and Intelligence). Weapons with these stats can only be found by looting the corpses of red phantoms during gameplay. These red phantoms represent the remains of players who perished in a different match, and when you loot them, they’ll drop any weapons they were carrying. The dropped weapons will have a “Grief” passive that adds extra stats based on the character the player was using at the time of their death.
If you encounter a slain character who was using the Duchess persona, you’ll obtain a weapon imbued with the Duchess’ Sorrow. Having this weapon with the Duchess’ Sorrow equipped in any of your inventory slots will grant you extra Dexterity and Intelligence bonuses.
If you want to find a red phantom corpse, check the area near a Day boss’ spawn point.
Character-Specific Grief Bonuses
The use of a Grief artifact triggers a passive effect, boosting two of your character’s key attributes. These enhancements are determined by the two highest abilities of the individual who previously possessed the looted Grief item. To inspect these specific stats, simply navigate to your Status menu and press R3.
Additionally, you can check out the stats for every Nightfarer by navigating to the Characters section in the Visual Codex. This will provide you with a rough understanding of what you might encounter when selecting a Grief artifact.
Should You Use Grief Passives?
Of course! Just remember to consider the stat boosts when choosing an item with a Grief bonus. For instance, if you’re playing Recluse, it might not be beneficial to pick up an item with Raider’s Grief, since the stats wouldn’t align well with your character.
The ideal Grief item you should aim for is one that aligns with your personality. This piece will offer stat bonuses tailored to your strengths, and there’s a strong probability that it will suit your playstyle effectively too.
