Ali Larter shared that the hardest scene to film in season two of her popular Paramount+ series, Landman, wasn’t the one where she wore a bikini.
Actress and former ‘Heroes’ star, 49, said filming episode nine, ‘Plans, Tears, and Sirens,’ was emotionally difficult. In the episode, her character, Angela Norris, leaves her daughter Ainsley (played by Michelle Randolph) at a cheerleading camp at TCU, and she described the scene as ‘really painful’.
‘I think it was one of the toughest scenes,’ Larter confessed to People on Sunday.
Angela is really struggling with her daughter moving out; it feels like a significant loss for her. I’ve seen many friends go through the same thing – it can be incredibly emotional, and I’ve witnessed them breaking down in tears.
Born in New Jersey and now living in Idaho, the actress has two children: a 15-year-old son named Theodore and an 11-year-old daughter named Vivienne. She and her husband, Hayes MacArthur, have been married for 16 years.
Larter first encountered the 48-year-old actor from Runarounds while filming National Lampoon’s Homo Erectus in 2007.
The L’Oréal Paris spokesperson said she’s been hearing from many mothers about how seeing that moment brought tears to their eyes.
Raising children is wonderful, but it changes who you are. Once they grow up and leave home, you’re left wondering who you are now, without that primary role as a parent.
Larter believes Angela struggles to find meaning in her life without her daughter, and she’s worried about what Angela’s future will hold as her daughter grows up.
The actress from Spin the Bottle enjoys filming scenes with her co-star and onscreen husband, Billy Bob Thornton.
Larter said she especially loves the genuine, peaceful moments between her characters, Tommy and Angela.
I especially enjoy those intense, emotional scenes. When I play Angela, her life is often full of drama and high stakes, and that’s what makes it so exciting.
The new TV series, created by Taylor Sheridan and Christian Wallace, is based on Wallace’s 2019 podcast, ‘Boomtown,’ and features a cast including Demi Moore, Sam Elliott, Michelle Randolph, and Andy Garcia.
Former Varsity Blues star, Ali Larter, is nominated for an award with 12 of her Landman co-stars. They’re all up for the prize for best ensemble performance in a drama series at the 32nd Actor Awards, now airing on Netflix March 1st.
Oh my gosh, you guys, I was SO relieved when Paramount+ announced a third season of ‘Yellowstone’! I was glued to the screen for season two, and apparently, a whopping 9.2 million people watched the premiere in just the first two days! That’s how they knew it HAD to come back, right? I mean, it’s amazing! I’m already counting down the days!
The cast and crew will reportedly begin production this April or May.
But first, Larter will be celebrating her milestone 50th birthday on February 28.
