Ahsoka is about to increase the action.
Eman Esfandi, the actor who plays Ezra Bridger in the live-action Star Wars series, has hinted at a thrilling and action-packed story for season two of Ahsoka. The new season will follow Ahsoka Tano as she continues to fight against Thrawn and the rising Empire. Ahsoka, Sabine Wren, and Ezra will be on a quest to find Baylan Skoll, and their journey will tie into the ancient Mortis gods and other galactic mysteries. Season two is scheduled to premiere on Disney+ in early 2027.
Speaking with ScreenRant’s Tatiana Hullender at the Spider-Man: Brand New Day premiere, actor Esfandi shared some hints about the upcoming second season of Ahsoka. He promised lots of exciting action and revealed that a key flashback featuring Ezra will be included. Esfandi also complimented Dave Filoni, the show’s creator and writer, saying his vision will deliver unexpected and grand moments for viewers.

ScreenRant asked about the upcoming second season of Ahsoka, expressing excitement for it and asking what the actor is most looking forward to sharing with fans.
There’s a ton of action in this – lots of fighting, explosions, and lightsaber duels! It’s really bringing back memories. I think fans are going to love it. Dave Filoni really went all out, and the rest of us were happy to follow his lead. It’s going to be a blast.
The first season of Ahsoka concluded with Grand Admiral Thrawn’s return and his ambition to restore the Empire. He is now the main villain, posing a significant threat after the events of Return of the Jedi. Meanwhile, Baylan’s journey to Peridea was connected to ancient, powerful beings known as the Mortis gods, hinting at what’s next for Ahsoka and her allies as they search for him. Ezra Bridger has also joined the New Republic, allowing his story – which began in Rebels – to continue.
According to Esfandi, the new season of Ahsoka will focus on significant challenges for the characters, primarily revolving around Thrawn and the threat he poses to the galaxy. While the specifics are still unknown, Esfandi suggests the story will be captivating and highly intense, shaping the overall narrative. The show will expand the Star Wars universe beyond Luke Skywalker’s story and set the stage for a larger conflict in the future.
Ahsoka is just one of several Star Wars TV shows currently being made. Another animated series, Star Wars: Visions Presents The Ninth Jedi, is scheduled to be released on August 5, 2026, and a second season of Maul – Shadow Lord is also planned. Currently, Ahsoka is the only live-action Star Wars show guaranteed to return for another season – the future of other shows remains uncertain. However, according to Esfandi, the next season of Ahsoka will be well worth the wait after more than three years.
Even though we don’t know exactly when it will premiere, Ahsoka looks set to be another strong addition to the Star Wars galaxy. The series promises lots of action and intriguing plot twists, and appears ready to significantly expand on the New Republic era—offering fans both what they love about Star Wars and a fresh new story.
