After The Marionette, I’m Worried About This Character’s Role In Five Nights At Freddy’s 3

Fans are concerned about what might happen to a certain character in Five Nights at Freddy’s 3, especially after the way the Marionette was shown in the recent Five Nights at Freddy’s 2 movie. Many found that sequel disappointing; it didn’t have a clear storyline and felt unfinished, leaving viewers unsatisfied.

Honestly, the biggest letdown in this movie was how they handled the Marionette. As a fan of the games, I’ve always been captivated by her design and her crucial role in the story – she’s the one who brings the animatronics to life! I really thought she’d be a major player in this sequel, but sadly, her potential felt completely wasted. It was a missed opportunity, to say the least.

As a big fan of the Five Nights at Freddy’s movies, I’m really excited about Five Nights at Freddy’s 3 being announced! The little teaser after the credits definitely suggests Springtrap will be the big bad, which is awesome. But honestly, I’m a little nervous. The way they handled the Marionette in Five Nights at Freddy’s 2 left me worried about how they’ll portray another fan-favorite character like Springtrap. I’m hoping they do him justice!

Hiding The Marionette Behind Possession Was A Major Mistake

What makes the Marionette so frightening in the games is her habit of hiding in the darkness. She guides the spirits of the children who want revenge on their killer, and seeing her look at you in the second game is truly unsettling.

Having the villain constantly switch bodies throughout the movie doesn’t suit her character. The Marionette is meant to be a shadowy, behind-the-scenes threat, and giving her so much on-screen time inhabiting different people actually makes her less intimidating and more predictable.

The movie becomes unintentionally funny when it reveals who is possessed by the Marionette. The possessed characters’ faces turn pale and adopt her look – glowing eyes, exaggerated black makeup around the mouth, and purple lines resembling tears. It doesn’t create any fear; instead, it looks ridiculous, with the actors awkwardly moving and jumping towards the camera in a failed attempt to frighten viewers.

The Marionette Had The Most Potential To Be A Scary Character

Honestly, what really got to me about this movie was how genuinely creepy they made the Marionette. The way they built and moved the animatronic was incredible – it was seriously unsettling! And whenever the real Marionette appeared, it was so much more frightening because of its size, looming over everyone. They didn’t overdo it though, which made those moments even scarier – it only showed up when it really needed to.

If the movie had shown more of the creature quietly moving around in the shadows and suddenly appearing, it would have been much scarier. The puppet’s design is already unsettling, and having it move throughout the film would have built tension and made it a more effective villain.

To allow Charlotte, as the Marionette, to communicate with Vanessa and others, the game could use speakers and other electronic devices. We’ve already seen this with the FazTalker and the pizzeria’s sound system, and it effectively heightened the creepiness as she remained hidden. This could have been a strong element of her character design, both expanding the game’s story and preserving what makes her frightening.

The Marionette’s Portrayal Is Worrying For Springtrap In The Sequel

The Marionette in Five Nights at Freddy’s 2 was a letdown because, despite a scary appearance, her role in the game didn’t quite deliver on its promise. Springtrap could face the same issue when Five Nights at Freddy’s 3 is released.

The character looks fantastic based on his appearance in the post-credits scene. This new design seems true to the original and really brings him to life. Like Springtrap, whose scary look made him incredibly popular, this character has the potential to become a fan favorite in the Five Nights at Freddy’s series.

Ultimately, the quality of the writing is most important. It’s hard to predict how Matthew Lillard’s return to the role will affect the character. For example, Springtrap might be shown actively running around instead of just looming threateningly in the shadows. The movie could also reveal more of the person inside the suit, potentially by having him remove the Yellow Rabbit head for much of the film. This idea fits with hints from the first movie, which suggested the dangerous springlock mechanisms were only in the body of the suit, not the mask itself.

There are no limits to what the next movie could be. It’s possible we’ll see Springtrap accurately portrayed. However, the way the Marionette was changed in Five Nights at Freddy’s 2 makes it hard to be optimistic. Those changes wasted a lot of potential for the previous film, and it’s a bit concerning for how Five Nights at Freddy’s 3 might turn out.
