Emma Raducanu has gone through nine tennis coaches in six years, and it appears she’s now having disagreements with some members of the Wimbledon tennis club, who are reportedly frustrated with her behavior.
Last year, I revealed that the tennis star – who won the 2021 US Open at age 19 – upset some people by reportedly wearing brightly colored pink outfits on the practice courts at Wimbledon. This was seen as a disregard for the tournament’s nearly 150-year tradition of all-white attire.
Emma Raducanu’s relationship with members of the All England club hasn’t improved recently, and some have expressed concerns about her behavior, describing it as arrogant and unfriendly.
I’ve heard she’s been criticized for being unfriendly and acting superior to others.
The situation hasn’t improved since my report in March. A colleague complained at the time, saying Emma consistently disregards the dress code – showing up in bright colors like pink when everyone else follows the all-white rule. They felt it was unfair and questioned her attitude, suggesting her US Open win doesn’t excuse her from following the same rules as everyone else.
As a long-time Wimbledon fan, I’ve seen even the biggest stars run into trouble with the rules. It’s not just happening now! Remember when Roger Federer had to swap out his bright orange shoes back in 2013? And just this year, Novak Djokovic needed special permission to wear a grey knee brace after his surgery. It just shows you, no one is exempt from the All England Club’s traditions!
Emma Raducanu’s Australian Open run ended earlier than expected last week when she lost in the second round, meaning she might return to London – and Wimbledon – sooner than anticipated.
A representative for Emma was approached for comment.
Was Tom Hiddleston being a bit of a diva? Apparently, the actor complained that his boiled eggs at Soho House were too runny, even after he’d finished eating them. He then requested another set, cooked a bit more thoroughly.
Christy’s cover-up
As someone who’s been around the fashion world for a while, let me tell you, you see everything. Recently, I was visiting Stanway Hall in the Cotswolds and couldn’t believe my eyes – they had that famous photo of Naomi Campbell’s tumble at a Vivienne Westwood show on display! It really brought back memories. It just goes to show, even iconic mishaps become part of fashion history!
Christy explained that when a woman wearing a skirt trips and falls, it can be embarrassing. She described jokingly drawing on a pair of underwear to make them resemble the old-fashioned, full-coverage underwear her grandmother wore.
Trinny Woodall is embracing the brave new world of AI at her make-up company, Trinny London.
I’m absolutely fascinated! Stacy London, you might remember her from ‘What Not To Wear,’ has basically created a digital version of herself. She fed an AI over 4,000 of her YouTube videos so it could learn to sound and think like her. It’s wild to think about, but it means this AI can now mimic her voice and even her way of looking at things. As a long-time fan, it’s pretty amazing!
I’m really excited about the idea my team and I are developing – essentially, a digital version of myself! We’re planning to use it like a second opinion in our meetings, bouncing ideas off of ‘virtual me’ before making decisions. Honestly, it’s a bit of a playful experiment, and I’m secretly wondering what kind of trouble we might get into!
Marisa puts her foot in it
For her first day filming the TV series Industry, Marisa Abela attempted to get into character as the spoiled Yasmin by arriving on set wearing eye-catching £600 Louis Vuitton sneakers, drawing on her method acting training.
She recalls people staring at her shoes, and she immediately started searching online for a simple, everyday pair of sneakers. She also began to think about how she would connect with people now that she wasn’t wearing expensive footwear.
The egg of reason
Helen Fielding, the author of Bridget Jones, says she found personal enlightenment not through psychedelic experiences like the ones her character had in Thailand, but through simpler pleasures – specifically, enjoying eggs.
She remembers visiting the country as a child and having a simple, delicious omelette on Koh Samui for breakfast, a moment that made everything seem incredibly vibrant and wonderful.
Mel Giedroyc, the former host of The Great British Bake Off, jokingly said she’d betray her longtime friend and co-host, Sue Perkins, if they were both contestants on the reality show Celebrity Traitors. It seems their friendship wouldn’t survive the game!
Honestly, Mel gets it. She totally gets it! She said herself that being a traitor is where the real fun is on the show, and I’m living for it! And the best part? She wouldn’t hesitate to take down Sue! She actually said she would murder her! Oh my gosh, Mel is a legend, I just know it!
