Since Holly Willoughby departed from This Morning, people have been wondering what her next career move will be.
There was a brief stint hosting ITV’s You Bet! and Netflix’s reality show Celebrity Bear Hunt.
Showing how much media is changing, the 44-year-old is planning a big return to the spotlight, but this time without a major television or radio network.
Sources say the popular TV host is planning to launch her own show, taking on both the role of creator and presenter.
She’s collaborating with her husband Dan Baldwin’s production company, Hungry Bear, to create a series of shows for online platforms, and she’s reportedly very enthusiastic about the project.
Someone familiar with Holly Willoughby’s thinking shared that the television world has changed a lot lately. It’s a very different environment than it used to be, and she feels now is a good moment to pursue new opportunities.
This is a completely fresh and innovative format – something truly modern and forward-thinking. It’s unlike any podcast, and in fact, unlike anything you’ve experienced before.
Holly will be heavily involved in all aspects of the project, both as a public face and working behind the scenes. She’s really enjoying the process of creating the show’s structure with a small group.
Since leaving This Morning in October 2023, Ms. Willoughby hasn’t been on television much. This followed a disturbing revelation that a former security guard had plotted to kidnap, assault, and kill her.
This disturbing incident happened shortly after a falling out with her colleague and friend, Phillip Schofield.
She went back to ITV to co-host Dancing On Ice with Stephen Mulhern, but the show has now been cancelled by the network.
Holly Willoughby is considered a strong contender to take over from Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman as the host of Strictly Come Dancing, following their departure last year.
