As an analyst following developments in the digital asset space, I’m seeing a significant move towards greater user accessibility. ADI Chain has partnered with Tangem to release a co-branded hardware wallet now available at Virgin Megastores throughout the UAE. This allows users to securely store their ADI Chain ecosystem tokens, as well as other popular cryptocurrencies, offline – offering true self-custody within a widely trusted retail environment.
Summary
- ADI Chain and Tangem have launched a co branded hardware wallet through Virgin Megastores across the UAE.
- The wallet supports Bitcoin, Ethereum and ADI Chain ecosystem tokens while allowing users to manage assets through self custody.
- The launch expands Tangem’s retail presence as hardware wallets continue moving into mainstream consumer stores.
A new hardware wallet is now available for purchase at Virgin Megastores in the UAE, making it easier for customers to buy one directly in stores instead of online. This wallet can securely store digital assets from over 80 different blockchains – including Bitcoin and Ethereum, as well as tokens on ADI Chain – and connects to a mobile app using NFC technology on smartphones.
This new hardware wallet is the first collaboration between ADI Chain and Tangem, bringing blockchain technology into everyday stores. It’s easy to set up in minutes using the Tangem app, allowing users to manage their digital assets, send crypto, and trade currencies. Importantly, every transaction needs a physical touch of the card for security.
The announcement states that private keys are created and kept safe directly within the card’s security chip – not on outside servers or your phone.
Tangem is making its secure hardware wallets more widely available by partnering with additional retailers. Following an expansion into over 200 Best Buy stores and BestBuy.com in June, Tangem now sells its products through major chains like Walmart, Amazon, and Virgin Megastore, broadening its reach to everyday consumers.
Retail expansion adds another distribution channel
This new collaboration allows ADI Chain to connect directly with customers at a popular electronics store in the UAE, expanding beyond just online sales.
Tangem’s wallet is a smart card that securely stores your cryptocurrency keys on a chip. You use a mobile app to manage your coins, but need the physical card to confirm any transactions. This keeps your keys safe by signing transactions offline, directly on the card.
ADI Chain’s wallet works with digital assets from over 80 different blockchains, like Bitcoin and Ethereum, as well as tokens created on its own platform. The project is designed for larger organizations – including governments, banks, and businesses – and includes features to help them meet regulatory requirements and manage policies.
The latest version of the Tangem App (v5.39) is available for both iOS and Android! This update includes several key improvements.
Here’s what’s new:
– Dynamic Addresses: For UTXO networks, a fresh address will now be created with each incoming transaction, enhancing privacy and security.
– Simplified Funding: Buying, swapping, and receiving cryptocurrencies are now combined into one easy-to-use section.— Tangem (@Tangem) June 17, 2026
The company also explained that this retail wallet brings strong security features directly to consumers by offering self-custody crypto products in regular stores, instead of just through dedicated cryptocurrency platforms. Tangem notes that its hardware has never been hacked and remains secure across over six million devices sold since 2017.
According to Ivan Branitskiy, who leads DeFi at the ADI Foundation, this new partnership will bring top-level security to everyday consumers through a wider distribution network.
ADI Chain is designed with the high security and regulatory standards that established institutions require. Tangem’s secure hardware has never been compromised, and has been used in millions of devices. Our partnership with Virgin Megastores allows us to distribute our wallets directly through a well-known retail chain in the UAE. By offering self-custodial wallets in easily accessible retail locations, we aim to make it simpler for more people to join the world of blockchain.
According to Darya Karpukova, Commercial Officer at Tangem, the company is working to simplify the process of buying and using hardware wallets. She explained that this partnership makes secure, self-custody of digital assets accessible in everyday stores, even for those without technical knowledge.
Tangem continues adding products beyond hardware storage
Virgin Megastores is now offering Tangem products, marking another step in the company’s growth beyond simply storing digital assets. Over the last year, Tangem has been adding a variety of new features and products.
Starting in December 2025, Tangem users can earn rewards directly within the wallet app on their USDT, USDC, and DAI holdings thanks to a new feature powered by Aave. Importantly, your private keys remain secure on the Tangem hardware device. This works by automatically adding your stablecoins to Aave’s lending pools using secure, verified smart contracts – no need for external apps or connections like WalletConnect.
Tangem previously announced that users will always have full control of their funds and can withdraw them at any time. This integration is part of Tangem’s plan to offer a wider range of financial services directly within its wallet app.
In early 2026, Tangem began selling its products at Best Buy stores and online in the U.S., offering NFC card wallets and the Tangem Ring. These wallets can securely store over 16,000 different cryptocurrencies across more than 90 blockchains using hardware-level security for your private keys.
