The popular drama is returning with a new lead after Peter Krause’s departure. Season 10 will premiere on ABC on Thursday, October 15th.
ABC announced its fall TV schedule on July 27th. Popular shows 9-1-1 and its spin-off, 9-1-1: Nashville, will return on Thursday nights alongside Grey’s Anatomy. The fall season begins on September 15th with the premieres of Dancing With the Stars and R.J. Decker.
9-1-1’s Shocking Death and Replacement
For seven seasons, the show 9-1-1 put its characters in dangerous situations without ever letting anyone die. But in Season 8, it did something shocking: it killed off a main character, Bobby, who succumbed to a new virus. While fans hoped Bobby’s death wasn’t permanent, those hopes are now unlikely to come true, as the actor who played him, Krause, is starting a new show on NBC.
After searching for someone to fill Bobby’s role, they chose Howard “Chimney” Han, played by Kenneth Choi, even though he wasn’t sure at first. Chimney had briefly been captain before and let it go to his head, but he’s grown into the position, learning from Bobby’s example. Ultimately, no one could truly replace Bobby, but Chimney stepped up as a strong successor.
