Abbie Chatfield mocks FBoy Island cast for acting like ‘divas’ in candid behind-the-scenes video
As a long-time follower of reality dating shows and someone who has navigated the complexities of modern dating myself, I can’t help but be intrigued by the upcoming season of FBoy Island. The behind-the-scenes glimpse shared by Abbie Chatfield offers a hilarious peek into the world of these contestants, their whining about photo shoots and knee discomfort had me rolling my eyes in amusement.
Abbie Chatfield has shared a glimpse behind the scenes of season two of FBoy Island.
In the video, the presenter was having a picture taken with a gentle touch, as some of the actors complained about needing to redo their poses.
The production manager suggests, “Let’s remember this experience so we can avoid repeating it in the future.” This statement elicits a collective sigh from the group.
Abbie scoffed, “Mature a bit, please. They’re snapping a picture and complaining, ‘This has been quite challenging.’ Act your age.”
As a dedicated admirer, I find myself asking, “Must we all remain kneeling for such an extended period? At this moment, my knees feel as if they’ve been folded within me.”
Abbie laughed, admitting that was funny and suggesting the fella get more screen time.
In this current period, there are FBOYs, Good Men, and Dramatic Women, apparently! Yet, they manage to be amusing, especially for the male audience, as she noted in her caption.
Abbie added in the comments: ‘Imagine if they had to wear heels’.
On the second season of Chatfield’s dating series, a fresh group of attractive, potential suitors – both FBoys and Gentlemen – are vying for either a romantic connection or a cash prize worth $50,000.
Krystal Thomas, Ally Wood, and Nicole Miltrov have been assigned the duty of navigating the dating scene to discern whether certain men are genuinely seeking love or merely interested in their financial resources.
However, certain followers of the Binge series, who saw the unveiling of their new group of 21 bachelors on Instagram on Wednesday, have expressed some disappointment with the chosen cast members.
Detractors took to social media with their gripes ahead of the show’s premiere.
In my opinion, last season’s lineup was head and shoulders above the rest. Yet another fan echoed this sentiment, stating that everyone seems to be struggling this season.
‘Why are they all GRONKS this season?’ asked someone else.
‘Omg the girls are gonna be so disappointed,’ wrote another commenter.
Among those trying to catch their interest are account manager Wes (age 28), music instructor Dart (also 28), stand-up comic Lewis (aged 30), and dancer Mitch (at 27) who hails from Victoria.
In this scenario, Doug (electrician), Nuggett (basketball player), Norman (youth worker), and Paddy (gym manager) will be the representatives from South Australia. They are respectively 25, 30, 34, and 32 years old.
23-year-old construction worker Sean, and 32-year-old fashion enthusiast Timothy, are the sole unmarried men originating from Western Australia.
In Queensland reside a trio of individuals: Aaron, a former military personnel at the age of 35, Jack, a 27-year-old real estate agent, and Joe, a 25-year-old model who previously worked as a rigger.
For the forthcoming season, a majority of the participants are originally from New South Wales: gardeners like Jerome aged 28, action enthusiast Eddy at 31, and disk jockey Frank who is 25 years old.
The social media sensation Jake (age 31), online influencer Jin (age 25), fashion model Joey (age 23), musician Minjarrah (age 30), and expat Vicente (age 27) will additionally join the dating series produced in New South Wales.
In the second season, Abbie, aged 29, will serve as the host, guiding the leading women in their mission to distinguish genuine suitors from those who are merely interested in winning the cash reward.
Over the course of the series, Krystal (age 28), Ally (age 27), and Nicole (age 26) will eliminate the male competitors whom they suspect are participating solely for the chance to win the $50,000 prize.
In the ‘Celebration Grove of Kind Men,’ those kind-hearted gentlemen who were voted out will be honored for their unwavering devotion to love. On the other hand, the self-proclaimed ‘Playboys’ will be sent to ‘Reformation Lagoon’ to strive towards change and improvement.
Towards the close of the season, every lady will be left with two potential partners to decide on, unaware if either one is genuinely kind or just pretending to be so (Nice Guy), or merely using her for their own benefit (Fboy).
As a lifestyle expert, I’d put it this way: When you choose a ‘Nice Guy’ in a joint contest scenario, you both walk away with half the winnings. However, if you opt for someone labeled as an ‘FBoy’, the decision on whether to share the prize or keep it all lies squarely on his shoulders.
In the first season, the program soared to popularity, earning a nomination for Outstanding Reality Show at the 2024 AACTA Awards.
FBoy season two will begin streaming on Binge on August 5.
