The new heist thriller, Fuze, starring Aaron Taylor-Johnson and Theo James, is now streaming in the UK. It’s a gripping film with plenty of unexpected turns and a great cast, making it ideal for a weekend movie night.
Directed by David Mackenzie, known for films like Hell or High Water and Relay, this movie is set in London when a World War II bomb is found. Authorities, including the military and police, begin an evacuation of the area.
I’m really hooked by this story! It’s so clever – while everyone’s focused on a big evacuation, a group of robbers is using the chaos as a perfect cover for a bank heist. And of course, it’s not going smoothly – there are tons of unexpected twists and turns that keep you guessing!

Okay, so I finally got to check out Fuze! It stars Sam Worthington and Gugu Mbatha-Raw, and it actually premiered way back at the Toronto International Film Festival last September. But good news – it’s finally out in UK cinemas today, so I’m heading to see it!
The new heist thriller, written by Ben Hopkins, will be available on Sky Cinema and NOW after playing in theaters. Sky Cinema is partnering with StudioCanal to distribute the film.

Since it first premiered last year, the movie Fuze has been well-received by critics. Currently, 84% of reviewers on Rotten Tomatoes have given it a positive rating, based on 32 reviews.
According to the Financial Times, the film is delightfully cheesy at times. However, it’s also full of life and energy, with director Mackenzie and writer Ben Hopkins cleverly weaving together unexpected plot twists and mixing up actors and film genres in a playful way – almost like combining random toys.
In a three-star review, The Times expressed a similar feeling, describing the story as full of twists – some obvious, but ultimately enjoyable and delightfully cheesy.
Critics have described the film as a fast-paced and exciting heist thriller, though it prioritizes keeping the story moving over detailed character development. Sight & Sound praised its unpredictable nature and momentum, calling it ‘twisty and propulsive,’ and Kermode and Mayo’s Take found it ‘lively’ and ‘watchable’.

IndieWire also gave the film a positive review, noting that while Fuze might not be a groundbreaking masterpiece, it’s a uniquely engaging look at the world of urban construction.
Alongside the new film Fuze, The Drama is also hitting theaters this week. Starring Zendaya and Robert Pattinson, the movie tells the story of a couple facing difficulties as they prepare to get married.
Fuze is out now in cinemas, and will stream on Sky Cinema and NOW in the future.
