Note: The following article contains discussion of sexual misconduct allegations.

Okay, so awesome news for anyone who loves Good Omens like I do! They’ve finally announced when we’re going to get the last episodes with Aziraphale and Crowley. I’ve been waiting ages to see how their story ends, and it’s happening! Michael Sheen and David Tennant are back, and I’m so hyped!

After a preview shared on social media last week, the show has revealed details about its third season, which will conclude with one extended 90-minute episode.

The finale is set to air on Prime Video on 13 May – seven years after season 1 debuted in 2019.

Season 2, released in 2023, received high praise, with Digital Spy calling it a significant improvement and Film School Rejects declaring it a resounding success. Fans won’t have to wait much longer to see what happens next, as David Tennant and Michael Sheen are returning as the demon Crowley and angel Aziraphale. They’ll be joined by the rest of the cast, all caught up in the battle to either prevent or bring about the end of the world.

Jon Hamm plays Gabriel, and Frances McDormand voices God in the film, with supporting performances by Adria Arjona, Jack Whitehall, Miranda Richardson, and Bill Paterson.

Sheen has praised the extended final episode, calling the direction “brilliant” and the acting “beautiful.”

The star mentioned on Twitter/X last December that while some parts of the show will be fantastic, others might spark debate. They also felt the show would have been better as six episodes, but it ended up being a different length.

It’s a truly impressive production! The direction is superb, the acting is beautiful, and the visual design is fantastic – everyone did incredible work. Plus, it features a lovely touch with the inclusion of nightingales.

So, the third season of Good Omens got cut short, which was really disappointing. It happened after some serious allegations came out against Neil Gaiman, one of the show’s creators. It definitely put a damper on things, and we didn’t get the full season we were hoping for.

Neil Gaiman wrote the final episode of Good Omens, but he wasn’t involved in the show’s production itself, and his production company, Blank Corporation, didn’t participate either.

According to reports in Vulture (January 2025) and a July 2024 podcast from Tortoise Media, nine women have accused Neil Gaiman of engaging in BDSM activities with them without their permission.

Gaiman has strongly denied accusations of wrongdoing. In a statement, he said that while reading recent claims, he found some things vaguely familiar and others completely untrue, noting that the accounts mix real events with things that never occurred.

I’m not perfect, but I’ve never been involved in any sexual activity without the other person’s full consent. Not once.

Good Omens season 3 arrives on Prime Video on 13 May.
