A new immersive ‘Superman’ experience is bringing Gary and Krypto to the Warner Bros. lot

Fans of Superman will get a chance to step into the world of their favorite hero with a new, interactive experience in Burbank, featuring both Krypto the Superdog and Superman’s robotic pal.

A new interactive attraction called Superman Experience: Defenders Unite will open on April 18th, officially designated as Superman Day. Warner Bros. Discovery Global Experiences and DC Studios announced that the “walkthrough experience and live gameplay attraction” will be located at Stage 5 on the Warner Bros. studio lot.

Based on the story of James Gunn’s upcoming 2025 film, the new attraction, Defenders Unite, will immerse guests in a superhero adventure. Visitors will start at the Fortress of Solitude, where Superman enlists them for a mission and gives them Kryptonian abilities. Using motion-capture technology, 3D glasses, and high-definition audio, guests will experience flying with Superman, training at the Kent family farm, and ultimately battling the supervillain Darkseid in a thrilling showdown.

Travel & Experiences

No matter what kind of movie fan you are – whether you love film facts, behind-the-scenes glimpses, or just want a fun photo op like the one from Friends – there’s a studio tour in Los Angeles for you.

Besides the pressure of saving the world, players will also see how their team is performing throughout the game.

James Gunn announced the opening date for the ‘Defenders Unite’ attraction on Threads, saying it was created with a lot of passion for Superman and invites guests to join Superman in protecting the world.

Beyond the main ride, the attraction will have a central area designed like the Fortress of Solitude. This hub will offer extra things to do, including photo spots, a lounge serving snacks and drinks, and a life-size robotic figure of Gary (formerly known as robot 4). Guests can also enjoy a Krypto-themed mini-game and visit a Daily Planet store for souvenirs.

California

Here’s what’s happening this morning: We’ve got news from the theme park capital, growing concerns about a wealthy candidate running for governor, and other important updates.

The news about the “Superman” experience comes after some recent disagreement regarding casting information for “Man of Tomorrow,” the next movie planned for 2025. Director James Gunn publicly refuted a report from Deadline on Wednesday, calling it “shoddy & incorrect.” The report had named several actresses – including Adria Arjona, Eva De Dominici, Sydney Chandler, and Grace Van Patten – who were reportedly being considered for the role of Maxima, an alien queen, in the upcoming “Superman” sequel. Both Deadline and the Hollywood Reporter have since confirmed these actresses are testing for the part.

As a huge Superman fan, I was thrilled to hear you can now check out ‘Superman Experience: Defenders Unite’! It’s about an hour long, and you can either buy a ticket just for that, or add it onto your Warner Bros. Studio Tour – which is what I’m planning to do!
