A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms season 2 has been unveiled.
A fresh look at season 2 of A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms confirms the return of Ser Duncan the Tall as filming continues on the Game of Thrones prequel. Set nearly a century before the original series, the show follows Dunk and his companion, Aegon Targaryen (known as Egg), on their journey across Westeros. The first season was well-received by critics, and a second season was greenlit even before it finished airing. Filming for the new episodes began in December 2025.
Photographer Piotr Drezinski has shared two new photos from the set of A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms season 2, which is currently being filmed in Juncalillo, Spain. Drezinski, who lives nearby, used a powerful lens to capture images of the production. The photos reveal Dunk with noticeably longer hair while riding a horse, confirming a significant change in his character’s appearance for the upcoming season.

The first season of A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms concluded with Dunk and Egg departing from Ashford, with Dunk now officially serving as the young prince’s squire. This completed a key theme of the show – Dunk’s dedication to the ideals of knighthood and honor, even as a wandering knight – by having him take the boy under his protection. Meanwhile, Maekar Targaryen remains unaware of their departure, and it’s uncertain if he’ll return. The second season will adapt The Sworn Sword, the second story in George R.R. Martin’s Tales of Dunk and Egg series.
With Dunk’s changed appearance in season 2, it looks like a significant amount of time will have passed since he and Egg first started traveling together. The show’s creator, Ira Parker, has already revealed that their next destination will be Dorne, staying true to the original story. Currently, Dunk and Egg are the only characters confirmed to return from A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, and recent photos suggest the new season will primarily focus on just the two of them.
