Good news for fans of George R.R. Martin’s Game of Thrones! HBO Max is releasing this week’s episode of the new spin-off series earlier than originally planned.
HBO Max announced that a new episode of A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms (Season 1, Episode 4) will be available starting Friday, February 6th, at 12:01 a.m. Pacific Time / 3:01 a.m. Eastern Time. Season 4, Episode 5 of another series will also be released then. Both episodes will be available on HBO Max before they air on TV on Super Bowl Sunday, February 8th. HBO has done this before with other shows, releasing episodes early to avoid competing with the Super Bowl.
Set 100 years before the story of Game of Thrones, A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms is adapted from George R.R. Martin’s Tales of Dunk and Egg novellas. The series features Peter Claffey as Dunk, a young and aspiring knight. The story unfolds during the Targaryen dynasty’s reign, when dragons are still a recent memory, promising adventure and peril as Dunk and his companion, Egg, travel across Westeros.
The HBO financial drama Industry premiered in 2020 and follows a group of ambitious graduates as they start their careers at the high-powered investment bank, Pierpoint & Co. in London. The show stars Myha’la, Marisa Abela, Ken Leung, and Sagar Radia. In the latest season, which began airing on January 11th, Yasmin (Abela) deals with a complex relationship with tech entrepreneur Sir Henry Muck, while her friendship with Harper (Myha’la) becomes strained.
“A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms” is the second prequel series based on HBO’s hit show, “Game of Thrones.” After three episodes, it’s clear that audiences are still captivated by the world of Westeros. The show has consistently been a top performer in the United States and has also ranked highly in numerous other countries.
A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms Has Already Been Renewed by HBO
I’m so excited that HBO clearly loves the new Game of Thrones spinoff! They renewed it for a second season way back in November 2025, along with the other Game of Thrones prequel, which shows how much confidence they have in both shows.
HBO is excited to announce new seasons of both House of the Dragon and A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms over the next three years, offering more content for fans of the Game of Thrones world. According to HBO’s Francesca Orsi, these shows demonstrate the depth and imagination of the franchise.
New episodes of A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms (Season 1, Episode 4) and Industry (Season 4, Episode 4) will be available on HBO Max starting Friday, February 6th at 12:01 a.m. Pacific Time / 3:01 a.m. Eastern Time.
