As a die-hard fan of all things supernatural and horror, I couldn’t contain my excitement when I found out that “Evil Dead Rise” had just landed on Netflix! This movie is not only a masterpiece in its genre but also a fantastic addition to the legendary Evil Dead franchise.

This masterfully crafted supernatural horror film is not only one of the finest in its genre but has also become a sensation on the streaming platform. If you haven’t yet experienced the chilling terror of this critically acclaimed horror flick, I must ask – what are you waiting for? Trust me; it’s worth every minute! As we speak, “Evil Dead Rise” is sitting comfortably at No. 6 on Netflix’s top 10 movie list, solidifying its position as one of the most popular films right now.

2023’s “Evil Dead Rise,” a chilling masterpiece penned and directed by the talented Lee Cronin, offers a thrilling new spin on the legendary “Evil Dead” series. As a diehard fan of this franchise, I can confidently say that it stands tall among its predecessors – “The Evil Dead” (1981), “Evil Dead II” (1987), “Army of Darkness” (1993) and the 2013 reboot. This is the fifth installment in the series, but it feels anything but stale; it’s a fresh, terrifying addition to the saga that’s sure to send shivers down your spine!

In contrast to other films in the series that are set in secluded woodland cabins, Evil Dead Rise provides a fresh twist by moving the narrative to an urban high-rise apartment building, where the terror unfolds. The story revolves around two estranged sisters, Beth and Ellie, who find themselves in a desperate struggle for survival as they and their families come under attack from a malevolent force that has been awakened and is intent on targeting them.

The exceptional ensemble features Lily Sullivan, Alyssa Sutherland, Morgan Davies, Gabrielle Echols, Nell Fisher, and several others. In the story, it is Lily Sullivan who takes on the role of Beth, a struggling artist who unexpectedly journeys to her sister’s apartment building, unaware that her arrival will soon thrust her into a battle for survival.

Instead, Sullivan takes on the role of Ellie, Beth’s sibling, who is a tattoo artist and parent to three children. Interestingly, Davies, Echols, and Fisher portray these three kids in the series. Noteworthy, every actor in the cast gives captivating performances, enhancing the overall viewing pleasure.

Similar to its predecessors, the film “Evil Dead Rise” is recognized for its gruesome violence and terrifying horror aspects. In fact, it has numerous scenes displaying extreme violence and bloodshed, making it quite graphic. It’s advisable to avoid this movie if you have a weak stomach or are easily disturbed. However, if you’ve watched the previous “Evil Dead” movies, you’re already familiar with the franchise’s distinctive style of horror.
