The new BBC crime drama, Mint, is coming later this month. The series tells the story of a woman from a criminal family who falls in love with someone from a rival gang. It stars Emma Laird, known from The Brutalist, and the musician Loyle Carner, who also goes by Ben Coyle-Larner.
Shannon is a hopeful and idealistic young woman, but she’s looking for love while living under the influence of her complicated family: her gangster father, Dylan (Sam Riley, known from Maleficent), her mother, Cat (Laura Fraser from Breaking Bad), her brother, Luke (Lewis Gribben of Black Mirror), and the strong-willed family elder, Ollie (Lindsay Duncan, seen in Sherwood).
The story follows Shannon as she falls deeply in love with Arran, a newcomer to town who also happens to be part of a rival criminal family. Their connection is instant and powerful, and will forever change both of their lives.

But not everyone approves, and as Shannon pursues her secret relationship, her family is falling apart. Dylan unexpectedly resigns, and his deputy, Sam, takes over, though his different approach to things is causing concern.
The new series will premiere with two episodes on Monday, April 20th, at 9pm on BBC One. All eight episodes will also be available on BBC iPlayer starting that same day.
