Fans of the thriller series The Replacement, starring Vicky McClure (known for Line of Duty), should know it will soon be leaving Netflix. The show, which first aired on BBC One in 2017, centers on Ellen, an architect played by Morven Christie, who hires a temporary replacement at her firm when she becomes pregnant.
Paula McClure, the new employee, quickly starts building relationships with Ellen’s supervisors, customers, and friends, leading Ellen to worry she’s being pushed out of the company.
Initially, everyone believes Paula is wonderful and Ellen is overreacting, but a problem at the location makes Ellen’s fears seem justified.

The thriller The Replacement will no longer be available on Netflix after March 19th. It was added to the streaming service a year ago and is leaving next week.
With a perfect score on Rotten Tomatoes from 11 critics, The Guardian praised the film as “remarkable in many ways.”

The review praised the storytelling, noting that writer and director Joe Ahearne skillfully built tension throughout the story. It was so well done that by the end, viewers were left surprised and wondering how the situation had escalated to such a point.
According to Metro (via RT), Morven Christie, who plays Ellen, and Vicky McClure, as her seemingly perfect replacement Paula, both give outstanding performances in Joe Ahearne’s story. The show began as a suspenseful thriller reminiscent of Alfred Hitchcock, but later shifted into a more playful crime adventure.

When it first came out, The Times compared the show to the dramatic hit Doctor Foster, calling it a real rollercoaster. Meanwhile, The Guardian described it as delightfully crazy.
Joe Ahearne wrote and directed The Replacement, which stars Richard Rankin (known for Rebus), Dougray Scott (Crime), Neve McIntosh (Shetland), and Navin Chowdhry (EastEnders).
McClure is getting ready to reprise her role as Kate Fleming in the next season of the popular BBC police drama, Line of Duty, with filming scheduled to begin this spring.
The Replacement is available on Netflix until 20 March.
