Movie theaters are giving fans a sneak peek at special Super Mario Galaxy-themed popcorn buckets and other merchandise, launching weeks before the film comes out. The items are designed with cute characters from the popular Mario franchise.
The Super Mario Galaxy Movie gets its popcorn buckets
The next Super Mario movie, a follow-up to the 2023 hit The Super Mario Bros. Movie, is coming out on April 1, 2026. Even though the release is still a few weeks away, movie theaters have already shown off the designs for special popcorn buckets and other items they’ll be selling with the film.
Three new, collectible popcorn buckets are coming soon! One is designed with Yoshi, showing him holding an egg that actually opens up to reveal a large 105oz popcorn container. You’ll be able to find them at many movie theaters, like Regal, Cinemark, and AMC. The price hasn’t been announced yet.
Another item is a small Bowser’s Cauldron, inspired by his smaller size in the new movie. The price hasn’t been announced yet, but Cinemark is offering a bundle that includes the Cauldron, a mini poster, a Luma push pin, a medium drink, and a special popcorn bucket with their Super Ticket for $35.
The last of the new popcorn buckets is shaped like a star and lights up with LEDs, inspired by the character Luma. It holds 105 ounces of popcorn, closes with a latch, and comes in green, red, yellow, and blue. You can currently pre-order an orange version on Fandango’s FanStore for $49.99, and it includes one movie ticket.
Besides the collectible popcorn buckets, movie theaters will be offering a variety of other items, including special food and drinks. For example, Cinemark will sell a 44oz souvenir cup, a cozy throw blanket, a Luma plush clip, a large round popcorn tin holding 130oz, and a bigger square popcorn tub that holds 170oz.
Regal Cinemas is getting into the Super Mario spirit with special offerings! They’ll have a Super Mario thermos, plus themed drinks like a Peach Freeze ICEE and a Star Power Cherry ICEE. You’ll also be able to enjoy Super Mario Galaxy Feastable candies while you watch the movie.
