A new, live-action Lord of the Rings trilogy may begin next year.

Warner Bros. Pictures plans to release The Lord of the Rings: The Hunt for Gollum in U.S. theaters next year. The film will be directed by Andy Serkis, who famously played Gollum/Sméagol in Peter Jackson’s The Lord of the Rings and also appeared in The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey.

Andy Serkis will once again play Gollum, and Ian McKellen is confirmed to return as Gandalf. Elijah Wood has heavily hinted that he’ll be back as Frodo, though he hasn’t made an official announcement yet.
