War Machine spoilers follow.
Alan Ritchson, known for his role in Reacher, stars in the new sci-fi action film War Machine, which premiered on Netflix today. He plays a combat engineer identified only by his military number, ’81’.
After his brother passed away, 81 decided to honor their lifelong dream by becoming a US Army Ranger. He signed up for a grueling training program, known for pushing candidates to their absolute limits, where only the most resilient succeed.

The new recruits face immediate danger when an alien robot attacks the planet with powerful and deadly weapons.
Okay, so I just beat this insane alien robot – seriously, it was tough! But the moment I won, I found out there were tons more of them already here on the planet. The movie just ended right there, leaving me totally hanging! I need to know what happens next – who’s gonna win this massive fight?!
What to Read Next
Netflix hasn’t announced a sequel to War Machine yet, but it’s too soon to say if one will happen. Whether or not they make another movie will likely depend on how well the first one did, so we’ll have to wait and see.
In a recent interview with Decider, Alan Ritchson playfully suggested a sequel – or even a whole series – is already in the works, saying they’re prepared to start filming.
Patrick Hughes, the director and co-writer, mentioned he’s already mapped out future storylines if Netflix decides to move forward with another installment.

He admitted he’d consider it if the chance arose, adding that he has a clear vision for the overall direction he wants to take things.
I’m totally obsessed with the character 81! When I started thinking about this project, I really wanted to build a story that began small and personal, then expanded to something much bigger. I felt like that approach would be a fresh take on the kind of game we were making, and honestly, I’m excited to see how it all plays out.
Ritchson playfully mentioned that in the next installment, his character travels to Paris, stays at the luxurious Le Bristol hotel, and enjoys their famous chicken truffle soup.
Well, if anyone is due a well-deserved holiday, it’s 81!
War Machine is available to watch now on Netflix.
The latest issue of Living Legends, a vibrant 100-page tribute to Harry Styles, is now available! You can find it at newsstands or purchase it online.
