Lily Allen is left red-faced as she accidentally plugs a scammer reselling fake tickets for her Glasgow show as she kicks off West End Girl tour

Lily Allen was embarrassed after unintentionally promoting a scammer who was selling fake tickets to her concert in Glasgow.

The 40-year-old singer began her West End Girl tour on Monday, performing at Glasgow Royal Concert Hall.

Before the event, Lily tried to help fans find last-minute tickets, but unfortunately, she was scammed.

Lily recently shared a now-deleted social media post from someone selling Lily Allen concert tickets. The seller said they and their partner couldn’t make it to the Glasgow Royal Concert Hall show and were offering their Arena Row C tickets at face value. They asked interested buyers to message them directly, and included the hashtags #LilyAllen, #Glasgow, and #Tickets.

Lily was quick to repost the scammer’s fake ticket sale – and was quickly called out by her fans.

One fan accused Lily Allen of promoting a scammer, jokingly stating they were ‘dead’ if that was true. Lily responded, embarrassed, explaining she only intended to help.

One fan shared a screenshot of a tweet pointing out that Lily Allen had publicly called out a ticket reseller who was clearly trying to scam people. The reseller claimed they couldn’t make it to her concert that night.

Some fans said they didn’t quite understand Lily’s first show, and were surprised that she was only on stage for 45 minutes.

The audience loved watching Lily perform her new album in its entirety, though a few people weren’t as impressed with the first part of the concert.

The audience enjoyed a 55-minute instrumental performance of popular songs like ‘Not Fair,’ ‘The Fear,’ and ‘Smile’ by a string trio.

This part of the show got a varied reaction. Some people found it amusing and over-the-top, while others felt it was simple and childish, like a song from a school assembly.

Critics reacted to X’s concert performance by comparing it unfavorably to a children’s singalong, suggesting a different act would be better suited for an arena tour.

Lily Allen began her performance of ‘West End Girl’ with an orchestral rendition of her popular songs, but notably didn’t actually sing the songs themselves. She performed ‘West End Girl’ in its entirety, as her sole offering – an unusual decision.

I’m a little confused – is Lily Allen performing for 45 minutes? It’s great to see her touring again and the show looks amazing, I’m really excited to go! But I’m worried that having a three-person band play her songs instead of her singing them won’t work well in larger venues.

Watching Lily Allen’s opening act in Glasgow – a string trio playing her songs with lyrics displayed for a singalong – was the most hilariously over-the-top thing I’ve ever experienced.

Even though there were concerns about how the concert would go, Lily’s performance was apparently well worth the short wait after her break.

Fans shared their excitement online after seeing Lily Allen perform “West End Girl.” Many described the show as incredibly moving and one of the best they’d ever experienced, expressing their happiness that she chose Glasgow as the tour’s opening city and that they were able to attend.

Lily Allen just delivered exactly what fans have been asking artists to do for years: a complete, start-to-finish performance of one of her classic albums. It’s amazing to see an artist actually deliver on what’s promised – a show billed as ‘Lily Allen performing West End Girl’ is exactly that, and people shouldn’t be complaining!

A fan reminded everyone that it was previously stated Lily would only sing songs from her album, West End Girl.

Lily recently announced she’d regained her voice, which is great news considering she was about to start her first tour in seven years, the West End Girl tour. She’d previously shared that she’d temporarily lost her voice just before the tour was scheduled to begin.

On Wednesday, she posted a new video online while practicing for her upcoming tour.

In the video, Lily is seen with her team and explains she’s lost some of her lower vocal range just five days before her tour begins, calling it ‘really cool.’ Her voice sounds raspy and cracks at times, and she appears to be struggling towards the end of the clip.

Lily’s show will now be moving to Liverpool, Newcastle, Bristol and Cardiff.
