More Sims, More Stories
The latest update raises the maximum number of Sims you can have. You can now unlock seven more Sims, which is a huge increase for the game! Two of these unlock automatically if you’re already at Level 40 or higher.
You can unlock the last five Sims by reaching Levels 66, 68, 70, 72, and 75. When The Sims FreePlay first came out in 2012, players could only have 16 Sims. Now, with the Livin’ Large update, you can unlock a total of 53 Sims by leveling up, participating in events, and using VIP perks.
Introducing Landgraab Ventures and Store Upgrades
This update introduces Landgraab Ventures, a new way to permanently improve your town! You can invest in and upgrade ten different stores in SimTown, each with ten levels of improvements to unlock.
We’ve added significant improvements to boost the quality of your buildings and provide long-term advantages. There are 100 upgrades available throughout your town. You’ll need to reach level 15 to unlock Landgraab Ventures. Once unlocked, you can tap on qualifying businesses on the Town Map and choose the new ‘Upgrades’ option to see how to improve them.
Every store has a clear path for improvements, shown as a progression tree. You can see what future upgrades will look like before you approve them. Big upgrades give you special benefits and make your store look better. These improvements can either unlock new ways to play or help you earn more rewards more efficiently.
For instance, the Pet Store and Pet Salon expansions let you have more pets in your household. The Baby ‘N’ Bumps expansion increases the maximum number of Sims who can live in one home. The Salon also adds new ombre hair styles, and Sorcerous Supplies introduces spells to help keep your house clean.
To improve your stores, you’ll need specific items called Upgrade Tools – these include Blueprints, Fuses, and Hard Hats. Once you unlock Landgraab Ventures and finish the tutorial, you’ll start seeing Landgraab Execs at the Community Market.
Fulfilling customer requests earns you Upgrade Tools. The more tasks you finish, the more requests will become available.
Town Map Revenue Rework
The Town Map Revenue system has been updated. Before, small icons for experience points and Simoleons would pop up over buildings often, but players said these frequent notifications were distracting and didn’t feel worth the small rewards they offered.
In Livin’ Large, earning money from Town Map features now only gives you Simoleons. You’ll see rewards less often, but when you do, they’ll be for larger amounts. Popular locations like homes and transit stations won’t show money icons anymore.
Now, you’ll earn more Simoleons at places like the Nightclub, Pet Store, and Campgrounds. You can collect rewards from work every seven hours, and from Landmarks and Community Spaces every 21 hours.
