If you’re familiar with Gabriel Batistuta, particularly his previous ‘European Clubs Attackers’ version, you’ll understand his strengths. This new version positions him as a ‘Fox In The Box’ – a role that really plays to his natural abilities.
Compared to the more proactive ‘Goal Poacher’ style, this player tends to stay more central and rely on passes rather than making runs to create opportunities. This can be a great fit for some teams, but might be a bit restrictive for others.
He excels in formations with two strikers or teams that frequently cross the ball. However, if your team focuses on a mobile, quick-passing style with your central forward, this version might feel limited. He sometimes stays put in the ‘False Nine’ role, which is a change from how he played at Roma.
However, when he gets scoring opportunities, he’s very precise and doesn’t waste time with extra touches. Actually, he’s not particularly smooth with multiple touches – they seem a bit forced. He’s also excellent in the air, and I’ve always appreciated his strong physical presence.
