Mickey Rourke was seen walking three dogs in downtown Los Angeles on Sunday, roughly two months after reports surfaced that he was facing eviction from his house.
The 73-year-old actor, who has been nominated for an Oscar, was spotted in Southern California wearing a gray sweatsuit and hoodie.
The actor known for ‘The Wrestler’ was spotted wearing clear-framed sunglasses and carrying a coffee cup during an early morning walk in Los Angeles.
The actor, known for movies like Diner, Rumble Fish, and 9½ Weeks, was wearing white Adidas shoes designed for martial arts training.
Rosie O’Donnell, along with many other actors in Hollywood, is grieving the death of Eric Dane, who passed away on Thursday at the age of 53 after a fight with ALS, a serious disease also known as Lou Gehrig’s Disease.
Last November, Rourke honored Dane with a post on Instagram, describing him as a ‘friend,’ ‘talented,’ and ‘very special’ after Dane guest-starred on the show Brilliant Minds.
Rourke praised Dane’s portrayal of a man with ALS on the show, calling it a captivating performance.
According to US Weekly, Rourke recently announced that Dane was in the hospital and asked fans for their prayers, but he later removed the message.
‘All we can do for Eric is pray hard and hope he’s [not] suffering,’ Rourke said.
He shared, ‘Doctors have said there’s nothing more they can do, so all we can do is hope and pray… that’s all any of us who care about him can do. Sending all my love and prayers to my brother.’
Late last year, Rourke faced possible eviction after his landlord requested he pay $59,100 in back rent, according to documents obtained by Daily Mail.
According to a lawsuit filed by Eric T. Goldie, the actor from Angel Heart received a notice on December 18th stating he had three days to pay an outstanding debt or vacate the property.
Philip Rourke Jr., known as Rourke, moved into the three-bedroom house in Southern California on March 30th and signed a lease to pay $5,200 in rent each month.
According to a legal complaint filed in Los Angeles on December 29th, Goldie claims the actor hasn’t followed the court order to either pay what he owes or leave the property.
Goldie requested the court order the actor to pay her legal fees related to collecting the unpaid rent, and to cancel the rest of their rental contract.
Rourke stated he didn’t know a business associate had started a GoFundMe campaign for him, which raised about $100,000.
Mickey Rourke recently told photographers in Los Angeles that a former employee was responsible for a recent incident. He claimed to have no knowledge of the situation.
I’m both ashamed and furious about this, but I’m the type of person who doesn’t let things go. I will address it eventually, though I’m certain now isn’t the moment.
In the outing, Rourke also vented about the eviction, saying the property was in disrepair.
He reported several issues with the property: the kitchen sink was broken, one of the two bathrooms had no water, there was no heating, the air conditioning wasn’t working, and they had a rodent problem with rats and mice.
The house was built in the late 1920s, and it had really deteriorated – the floors were rotting, especially in places like under the sink. This meant mice and rats could easily get in, and honestly, I just don’t want to live in a place like this.
