Recent reports from DisInsider suggest a fourth Cars movie is still being discussed, but fans shouldn’t get their hopes up. The outlet states they’ve consistently been told the project isn’t in development, meaning there are no current plans to make it. However, the rumor hasn’t been completely dismissed.
The success of Cars is consistent and reliable for Disney and Pixar. Even when there isn’t a new movie released, sales of Cars merchandise and the popularity of the Cars-themed attractions at Disney parks continue to generate significant revenue.
I’m still a huge fan of the Cars world, and honestly, it wouldn’t surprise me at all if the studio decided to go back to Radiator Springs someday. They’d need the perfect story and the right moment, of course. Right now, it’s just what people are saying in the industry, and as far as anyone knows, the studio hasn’t made anything official yet, so we’ll just have to wait and see!
The first Cars movie came out in 2006 and quickly became popular with families, featuring the voices of Owen Wilson and Larry the Cable Guy. It was followed by Cars 2 and Cars 3, plus other related projects like theme park attractions. The entire Cars series has earned over $1.4 billion around the world, proving it remains a beloved franchise.
