Wild Rift Norra Guide: Skill Analysis
Passive: Beloved Trinkets
Okay, so with my character Norra, every 21 seconds I can basically place a little trap – a Trinket – on the field. It hangs around for 4 seconds, and if an enemy walks over it, it zaps them with magic damage! It’s a cool way to add some extra burst when they try to chase me or get into position.
When you use this ability on enemy champions, its cooldown is reduced by 20% of its total cooldown time.
Skill 1: Memory Surge
- Passive: Deals 1% – 2.5% of the target’s max Health as bonus magic damage to enemies enlarged by Threads.
- Hold (Active): Norra gathers memories, thereby slowing herself down by 20%. If she continues charging after reaching full charge, the slow increases to 30% and she teleports backward for a short distance after firing.
- Release (Active): Unleashes the memories she gathered, charging and firing a magic bolt in the target direction. The magic bolt stops when it hits an enemy champion, dealing magic damage to them and enemies nearby.
Skill 2: Journey to Nowhere
Opens a magical, circular portal at a targeted location, damaging all enemies inside and briefly banishing them to another dimension for 2.25 seconds.
Enemies that cross over from the other dimension can move, but they’re significantly slowed down (by 80%) and can’t attack or use any abilities. They’ll automatically return to where they started after 2.25 seconds.
Skill 3: Threads of Homecoming
Passive: When a Trinket damages its target, it applies a Thread.
This ability creates portals at both ends of a targeted area. After a short pause, these portals launch crisscrossing magical threads, damaging and marking all enemies positioned between them.
If you hit an enemy with Threads, they’ll be slowed down by 20% for 2 seconds and become easier to hit – their size will increase for 4 seconds. This attack also does 115% extra damage to monsters and minions.
Ultimate ability: PortalPalooza!
Norra creates a large teleportation circle that traps any units inside. By swiping across the circle, she opens portals at both ends and shoots a magical bolt between them. She can do this a maximum of four times.
This magical attack slows the first enemy hit by 80% for half a second and deals magic damage to all enemies in its path. The fourth magical attack deals an additional 40% magic damage.
Skill-up method for Norra
Focus on leveling up Skill 1 first, as it helps you perform well in the early game and safely harass opponents. After that, prioritize Skill 2, then Skill 3. Whenever you can, unlock and upgrade your ultimate ability.

Best Rune Setup for Norra
Norra’s rune choices are designed to maximize her damage and effectiveness in League of Legends. Here are some of the best runes to help her perform at her best on the Rift.
- Dark Harvest: This rune stacks up extra adaptive damage whenever Norra attacks enemy Champions with below 50% Health. This rune’s passive makes it easier for Norra to take down squishy enemy champions.
- Sudden Impact: Empowers Norra’s attacks immediately after she blinks or dashes, making her more annoying to deal with on the Rift.
- Tyrant: Deals True damage to low Health enemies making it easier for Norra to secure a Takedown.

- Liandry’s Torment: Provides bonus ability power, health, and burn damage for Norra, making it exceptionally useful in teamfights.
- Horizon Focus: This equipment grants extra Magic Pen and Ability Haste, while revealing enemies hit from long distance via your First or Ultimate ability.
Wild Rift Norra Guide: Gameplay Tips
Norra is a versatile champion who can play as either a Mage or Support. She excels at controlling space, dealing damage to multiple enemies, and separating single targets during matches. This guide will explain how to play Norra effectively in the early, mid, and late stages of the game.
Early Game
Early in the game, Norra is best played as a mage who controls the battlefield by keeping enemies at a distance and safely dealing damage. Begin by leveling up her first skill, as it’s her main way to poke at opponents and play it safe in lane. After that, focus on her second skill, which is more about controlling the fight than dealing a lot of damage. It briefly removes enemies from the battle, stopping them from attacking or using their abilities.
Use Norra’s third ability, Threads, to make enemies easier to target, then quickly follow up with her first ability for increased damage. Be mindful of your positioning before using Skill 1, as it briefly slows you down while charging. Norra’s passive ability generates helpful items automatically, so focus on consistently attacking your opponents to speed up this process and keep the pressure on.
Concentrate on managing minion waves, safely attacking from a distance, and carefully placing control wards before joining team fights. It’s important to work closely with your mid lane and jungle teammates to plan attacks and surprise enemy players near important objectives. Rotating to help other lanes early on will give your team an advantage, especially when Rift Herald appears. Here’s a helpful skill combination to get you started in the early game:
Skill 1 + Skill 3 + Skill 2
Mid Game
As the game progresses, Norra excels at controlling team fights. Focus on targeting groups of enemies and using her Skill 3 to apply Threads, which makes them larger and easier to hit with attacks from you and your team. Also, use Skill 2 wisely to single out key enemies or interrupt the opposing team when they try to attack objectives.
Norra’s Skill 1 does extra damage to enemies who are made bigger, so use it right after applying Threads. By the middle of the game, her ultimate is her most powerful ability for team fights and controlling the map. She can use it to easily win fights over important objectives like Dragon and Rift Herald. Her ultimate creates a large area that traps anyone inside.
This ability isn’t just powerful because of how much damage it does; it also lets you control the battlefield and keep enemies contained. When enemies are caught within its area, you can quickly fire up to four magical attacks by swiping across a circle. Each swipe adds more pressure, and the fourth attack deals significant extra damage, making it particularly effective in longer battles. Here’s a strong combo to use with Norra as the game progresses into the mid and late stages:
Skill 3 + Skill 1 + Ultimate ability + Skill 2
Late Game
Norra excels at controlling the battlefield and hindering enemies during team fights as the game progresses. Stay behind your teammates and don’t push too far forward. Begin fights by using your Skill 3 to apply Threads, then quickly follow up with Skill 1 for extra damage. Use Skill 2 to keep the enemy assassin away and protect yourself from being eliminated during a fight.
Norra truly shines when facing groups of enemies, particularly in tight spaces. Focusing on skills that control the battlefield and damage multiple foes at once will make her incredibly effective. With good timing and positioning, Norra can dominate fights by controlling where enemies move and setting the pace of the battle.
The Magic Portal is key to good positioning – it lets assassins get around enemies, provides a quick escape for your team, and allows for unexpected movements. Essentially, focus on smart positioning, strong engagements, and protecting your damage dealers so they can win team fights. Now, let’s look at Norra’s best counters, as well as her strengths and weaknesses.
