Danniella Westbrook’s ‘nightmare’ journey to rebuild her face: All the star’s cosmetic surgeries and botched procedures as she goes under the knife AGAIN

Danniella Westbrook has been working to restore her face and regain her self-esteem after struggling with addiction.

At age 14, the 52-year-old actress began using drugs shortly after gaining popularity for her role as Sam Mitchell on the BBC’s EastEnders soap opera.

During the worst period of her addiction, reports indicated she used as much as five grams of cocaine daily, spending nearly £250,000 on the drug.

Years of drug use severely damaged her face, including the collapse of her nose due to a deteriorating nasal septum.

Danniella recently had another surgery to continue rebuilding her face, and she shared the news on Tuesday, noting that she’s now sober.

As a lifestyle expert, I’ve definitely noticed this trend! This particular celebrity has always been incredibly open with her fans about everything she’s had done – from procedures to rebuild or repair, to those little cosmetic enhancements many of us consider. She really doesn’t hide anything, and I think that’s quite something!

Daniella recently had cosmetic surgery to reshape her face, neck, and brow, as well as her lips and nose.

New pictures showed her wearing a hospital gown in her room before going for the surgeries.Ā

A full recovery from a face, neck, and chin lift can take up to nine months.

Danniella underwent surgery performed by Dr. Parviz Sadigh, a surgeon she knows and trusts, who has operated on her before.

Last month, Danniella posted on Instagram, expressing her gratitude and respect for her surgeon, Dr. Parviz Sadigh, and acknowledging his dedication.

‘Everyday I grow and glow xxxx thank you and roll on Feb for the next operation.’

Her latest operation is just one of many interventions she has had over the years.Ā

The soap star previously revealed she nearly died following a botched surgical procedure in 2015.

SheĀ suffered from severe facial bone degradation, which she attributes to osteoporosis.

Osteoporosis is a disease that causesĀ bones to become weak and brittle.

Danniella now has a full denture that rests on the top of her mouth after experiencing significant bone loss in her cheeks, leaving her with implants where her teeth used to be.

In 2018, she explained to The Mirror that doctors wanted to rebuild part of her skull and face. However, the bone was too weak to support the necessary plate, so the surgery couldn’t happen yet.

In 2016, while a contestant on Celebrity Big Brother, she had to leave the show unexpectedly for urgent dental surgery.

She explained that the bone hadn’t healed properly around the screws, requiring three trips to the dentist – something they weren’t supposed to do – because the pain was unbearable.

She ended up staying in hospital for seven weeks, during which she developedĀ septicaemia.

I was incredibly sick and needed a lot of fluids through an IV. Then, they had to remove all my teeth again and fit me with dentures, which I’m really upset about because I don’t think I needed to lose all of them in the first place, she said.

In 2022, the celebrity shared that she wanted to use a rib bone to help rebuild part of her face.

‘I hate the way I look. I’m constantly made fun of, and trolled for it,’ she told The Sun.

I receive hateful messages telling me I’m unattractive, addicted to drugs, and should end my life.

Danniella explained that she’s reached a point where she’s unhappy with her appearance and wants to change it. She emphasized that this decision is for her own well-being, not to please anyone else.

She also noted at the time that it would help her breathing and sinus issues.

In 2023, Danniella traveled to Turkey for a series of cosmetic procedures, including a thread lift, liposuction on her cheeks and lips, and fat transfer to her chin and jawline.

Disturbing photos from the actress’s surgery show her bruised and bloodied in her hospital bed. She said when she first regained consciousness, she felt as though she’d gone through a brutal boxing match with Tyson Fury.

Danniella explained she’s wanted reconstructive surgery for seven years, but couldn’t find a surgeon willing to perform it because her nasal septum had completely deteriorated.

Let me tell you, preparing for this trip was really tough emotionally. I was honestly quite scared. My mom and my son, Kai, were checking in with me non-stop, which meant a lot. I even got my affairs in order and made a will before I left, and I appointed Kai as the executor – just to have that peace of mind, you know?

I’m incredibly fortunate to have survived and I’m doing much better now. It feels like someone was watching over me. I was a mess – I looked like I’d just finished a brutal boxing match!

‘But the swelling has actually gone down really quickly. I’m already happy with the results.’

Danniella covered the cost of her surgery herself, even though clinics worldwide offered to do it for free. This came after a frightening health issue the previous year left her needing intensive care because she had trouble breathing through her nose.

I was so saddened to hear about everything she’s been through. She shared that she needed five surgeries to fix the damage to her face, which was caused by a past struggle with cocaine and then complicated by osteoporosis. What really struck me was that she was hoping to get the procedures covered by the NHS, which I think is a testament to her strength and resilience.

She explained to The Sun in 2023 that she’d been trying for seven years to get someone to help with a project, but everyone refused, fearing potential failure and professional repercussions.

I was quoted around £500,000 by plastic surgeons for facial reconstruction, which seemed like an impossible amount. Ultimately, the surgery became possible because I unexpectedly ended up in intensive care before Christmas.

I had a bad cold that made it hard to breathe. Fluid built up in my lungs, and after I fell asleep, I couldn’t wake up fully. This led to me needing care in the intensive care unit (ICU).

I was transferred to Aintree Hospital in Liverpool, and I’m grateful I connected with the right doctors there. Otherwise, I’d still be searching for help. Now, I’m receiving treatment through the National Health Service.

Just a few months after the operation, the actress expressed her regret about having a fifth facial reconstruction in Turkey, saying it caused her significant pain.

Danniella, unable to use common pain relievers because of her history with cocaine – which often contains codeine – woke up in severe pain and was terrified for her health.

She shared with OK! magazine that she underwent a thread lift, having over 1,200 threads inserted into her face. She also intended to have her nose reconstructed during the procedure, but that part wasn’t completed.

The celebrity mentioned she’s returning to her surgeon in Liverpool for a nose reconstruction. They plan to rebuild the structure supporting her nose and reshape the front of it.

She explained that doctors had redistributed fat from her back, sides, and stomach to her face to create better symmetry. However, she feels they removed too much fat from her stomach, and she’s noticed she’s lost the abdominal muscles she used to have.

I’ve developed large fluid-filled lumps all over my abdomen – they feel like tennis balls. This has really changed my body, and it’s going to take a lot of effort to get back in shape. I’m turning 50 this year, and I was hoping to be at my peak physical condition.

The actress announced in June 2025 that she was undergoing extensive surgery to correct the results of a previous facial reconstruction, which she was unhappy with.

She posted a photo on Instagram of herself in a hospital gown, saying it was a ‘big day’ because she was having surgery again.

I’m off to a long surgery to reconstruct my face. I’m looking forward to getting back to work and continuing our life together, @chasarealtal. I love you!

Danniella has openly discussed having multiple breast augmentations – she estimates she’s had at least seven over the years.

On the Channel 5 show Celebrity Botched Up Bodies, she revealed she’d increased her breast size from a 34B to a 34D, and then again to a 34DD.

The actress admitted she went against medical advice and asked her surgeon to significantly increase her breast size, explaining she desired very large breasts.

She explained that he told her the outfit wouldn’t suit her, saying she was too small and didn’t have the right build. But she really wanted it, so she pleaded with him to make it work.

‘I went huge like footballs, I thought they were great.’Ā

In 2018, Danniella revealed she’d undergone unnecessary surgeries, including liposuction on her knees.

She revealed to The Sun that she’d undergone unnecessary cosmetic procedures, including seven breast augmentations, an eyelid lift, a facelift, Botox injections, and liposuction on her knees.

She admitted she’d likely get plastic surgery again, even though she says she wouldn’t want to.

Danniella recently had surgery after being hospitalized with breathing problems in December.

Originally cast in the movie Tales From The Trap, she was replaced due to health problems stemming from a long-standing issue with her collapsed septum.

Sources told the Daily Mail that the actress, who hasn’t appeared in any movies or television shows since 2016, needed to see a doctor because she was having trouble breathing.

Danniella was originally cast in ‘Tales From The Trap,’ alongside Liv Hawkins from ‘Love Island,’ to play a tough-as-nails grandmother who deals in firearms. However, she has been replaced by Kim Tiddy, known for her role in ‘Slow Horses’.

Someone close to Danniella revealed in December that she was unexpectedly hospitalized on Friday with trouble breathing, forcing her to cancel her appearance in the show ‘Tales From The Trap’.

She was scheduled to return to acting in a film playing a tough grandmother who sells AK-47s to criminals. It’s a shame, because many people were excited to see her in that role.

Danniella was last seen on television in 2016 when she competed on Celebrity Big Brother, ultimately winning the show.

She first gained reality TV experience on ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!’ in 2003, then went on to compete in ‘Dancing On Ice’ in 2010. In 2013, she joined the cast of the Channel 4 soap opera, ‘Hollyoaks’.
