Prime Video is creating a new romance series called Boys of Tommen, based on the popular novels by Chloe Walsh. The show will be produced by the team behind the hit series The Summer I Turned Pretty.
The first season, praised for its grand scope and memorable characters, draws its story from the novels Binding 13 and Keeping 13.
The story centers around Johnny Kavanagh, a promising rugby star, and Shannon Lynch, a quiet and gifted newcomer to the exclusive Tommen College in Ballylaggin, Ireland, and their developing, yet complicated, romance.
What to Read Next
Okay, so the story’s about these two teens, Johnny and Shannon, and they’re both dealing with some seriously heavy stuff. Johnny’s got an injury that could ruin his chances at a career, and Shannon… well, her home life is really messed up and even violent. They connect in a secret, intense way, and honestly, it’s like they’re the only ones who can help each other get through it all. It’s a real underdog story about them fighting to save themselves, and each other.
I’m so excited! The author of A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder, Holly Jackson, is actually writing the script for the TV show, which is amazing news. Plus, the same people who made The Summer I Turned Pretty – the studio wiip – are producing it, so I have high hopes for how it’ll look and feel. She’s also an executive producer, which is great!

Walsh expressed being deeply touched by the incredible response from readers globally. She shared that it means a lot to her that everyone involved in creating the book and production is as dedicated to truthfully telling this story as she is.
Nicole Clemens, head of international content for Prime Video and Amazon MGM Studios, said they are excited to adapt the story for television.

She explained that this popular book, a sensation on TikTok, has resonated with readers around the globe thanks to its moving story and memorable characters.
Poppy’s screenplays beautifully portray the passionate love story between Johnny and Shannon, and delve into the lives of a compelling group of characters. They tackle important issues like mental health, bullying, and overcoming adversity, all with the genuine and heartfelt approach that readers adore in Chloe’s novels.
Boys of Tommen will stream on Prime Video.
