Clara McGregor shared details about her 30th birthday, which she celebrated with both of her parents after resolving a disagreement with her father, Ewan.

Okay, so when news broke about their relationship – they actually met on the set of Fargo’s third season – it became pretty clear Clara wasn’t thrilled about it. She definitely made her feelings known, and it was obvious she wasn’t happy with how things were going. As someone who watches these things, it was pretty apparent from the start that this wasn’t a match made in heaven!
Both individuals filed for divorce in May 2017, but were then seen looking affectionate and kissing just a few months later in October.
You know, from what I’m seeing, it looks like Clara and Ewan and Mary have really moved past everything. Despite what Clara said before, it seems like water under the bridge now. She’s publicly acknowledged she regrets how she acted, and thankfully, they’ve all managed to repair their relationship. It’s a great reminder that apologies and forgiveness can truly heal things.
She hinted at this in recent photos she shared with her parents celebrating her 30th birthday on February 4th.
Clara shared a happy photo from her birthday party, showing her with her arm around her dad, Ewan. She looked lovely in a short lace dress and heels.
Clara shared a photo of herself having dinner with her mother, Eve, who is 59, to mark the special occasion. It’s unclear if she was also at the party.
Clara and her family and friends had a lively and fun-filled party, dancing all night on a brightly lit, colorful dance floor.
Photos also show Clara receiving a piece of pie with a candle, and a birthday cake decorated with ‘Happy Birthday Clara’.
It’s unknown if Ewan’s wife, Mary – and the mother of their five-year-old daughter, Laurie – was at Clara’s party.
Although Clara and her father seemed to have moved past their disagreements, she originally took her mother’s side when they separated.
In 2018, Clara said she wished she hadn’t called her father’s girlfriend ‘trash.’
Earlier that July, the production designer made a harsh comment on a photo of her father’s girlfriend, posting it on an Instagram fan page for the celebrity.
Clara admitted she didn’t handle things well, but she explained she kept noticing people criticizing her mother, Eve, after she was repeatedly tagged in a picture of Mary.
Clara told Barbara McMahon in The Times that she felt both angry and upset about what happened.
Okay, so things were just… a lot, honestly. There was so much going on, and I messed up, I admit it! It wasn’t my best, not even close. But you know what? I’ll always say what’s on my mind, especially if I really believe in it. I just have to!
Clara explained that she was repeatedly tagged in a photo online, and people were making hurtful comments about her mother.
Okay, so I just… I had to tell them how I was feeling, even if it wasn’t perfect. I don’t regret being honest, even though looking back, maybe I could have handled it better. It’s just… I always had this picture in my head of what our family should be, and things changed, you know? It’s totally thrown me, honestly. It’s just so strange when everything you thought you knew gets… different.
Clara revealed she’d known for a while that Ewan and her mother, Eve, were getting divorced, especially after a photo surfaced showing him kissing Mary.
Clara explained that the photo appeared online on her sister’s birthday, and her dad was unaware it would be published. He had tried to keep it private, but paparazzi were following them, so it eventually became public.
Despite their recent family drama, Clara has insisted that she is ‘close with her dad.’
She revealed: ‘I love him and I always will. The relationship’s not going to end because of this.
We’re very close, and even though I don’t agree with the choices he’s made, I’ll always care about him and want him to be happy.
‘I wish them all the best, but I’m staying out of that, for sure,’ she concluded.
Clara had previously criticized the administrators of a fan page for the Fargo actress, upset that they had called Mary beautiful.
Clara appeared very upset and expressed her strong disagreement in a comment, writing: ‘Calling her the most beautiful and talented woman on earth? That’s ridiculous! She’s awful.’
Ewan and Eve divorced in March 2018, a split that became public after Ewan was seen kissing another woman, Mary, six months prior.
Since then, Ewan and Mary’s careers have both flourished, and they playfully suggested they’d love to star in another movie together when speaking publicly recently.
Ewan told his wife, speaking from the stage, how much he enjoys working with her. He expressed that their three collaborations have been wonderful and he hopes they’ll have many more opportunities to work together.
Now that Mary and I are in Scotland, it would be great if you could suggest some Scottish movies we could both be in, so we don’t have to spend time apart.
The couple first connected in 2016 while working on the FX series Fargo. They played a couple on screen during the show’s third season, which is how they initially met.
During the filming, the actor was married to Eve Mavrakis and they had four daughters together. Meanwhile, Mary Elizabeth was married to Riley Stearns.
But eventually, both of their marriages ended and the co-stars began dating soon afterwards.
The pair collaborated once more on the 2020 superhero movie Birds of Prey and the 2024 historical series A Gentleman in Moscow.

And then, a private wedding! Can you believe it? A beautiful backyard ceremony in LA in April 2022. It was perfect and so them. I’ve been following their journey forever, and it’s just amazing to see them build their little family!
