This week, 73-year-old Jeff Goldblum was spotted in Italy with his wife and their two young sons – a rare public outing for the family.
The actor from Jurassic Park paired a black leather jacket with light gray jeans. His wife, Emilie Livingston, 43, wore a black suit and a fitted button-down shirt.
I always love seeing the family together! They brought their adorable boys, Charlie Ocean, who’s ten, and eight-year-old River Joe. They were both comfy and casual, dressed in sweatshirts and sneakers – perfect for a fun day out.
A family of four attended a welcome reception for guests at the Teatro alla Scala, held in connection with the opening of the Milano Cortina 2026 Winter Olympics.
This comes after the movie star shared what a joy it is to have two young children at home.
The opening ceremony featured Mariah Carey and Andrea Bocelli.
Jeff Goldblum described becoming a father again later in life as enjoyable, but jokingly compared his two young children to wild, energetic animals.
The actor spoke about fatherhood during an appearance on NBC’s Today.
He described the experience as incredible and revitalizing, saying it has genuinely improved his relationship with Emilie. He was amazed by his wife in this new position, calling her unbelievably heroic.
Raising young children can be incredibly difficult, frustrating, and unpredictable. Toddlers and preschoolers, especially between the ages of three and seven, can sometimes act wild and out of control.
The star concluded: ‘Oh yeah, and sweet and amazing. It’s great.’
In 2019, Jeff openly discussed his marriage and confessed that he hadn’t felt a strong connection to the idea of being a father until after he had children.
The actor recently shared with Radio Times that becoming a father was a complete surprise. He explained he’d never really thought about having children, hadn’t pictured it for his own life, and hadn’t even witnessed a birth before – he doesn’t have any nieces or nephews.
In past relationships, my partners and I occasionally discussed having children, but it never got serious. I’ve always been grateful that I avoided the difficulties that can come with children and breakups.
Oh my gosh, he actually told everyone how it happened with his wife! Apparently, they spent a whole year seriously thinking about having kids. He even went to therapy to talk it through – can you believe it?! They worked through everything together, and after all that, he finally realized, ‘You know what? This feels right. Let’s get married and start a family!’ It’s just… so perfect and real, knowing how much thought they put into it. I’m completely obsessed with how open he is!
As a lifestyle expert, I was so touched when he shared his hope for a lifetime together with his partner. He really expressed a feeling of finally being where they both belonged, ready to build a future as a couple. It was a beautifully simple and heartfelt sentiment.
Jeff was talking about how he’s raising his two sons and mentioned a suggestion from his ‘The Grand Budapest Hotel’ colleague, Tilda Swinton. She encouraged him to share silent films by Buster Keaton and Charlie Chaplin with them. He also plans to introduce them to the books of P.G. Wodehouse once they’re a bit older.
The actor married Canadian dancer Emilie in 2015. This was his third marriage, following previous marriages to actresses Patricia Gaul and Geena Davis.
Emilie has said before that it was frightening to openly share her wish to build a life with him.
The athlete shared a loving message to her husband, Jeff Goldblum, on Instagram, saying he’s made her feel loved since the day they met.
I was surprised by these strong feelings, as I’d never fallen in love so quickly and purely before. It’s different from how some people approach relationships, playing games or acting distant.
She explained that they were simply honest and lived in the moment from the beginning of their relationship. Eventually, she told him she wanted a family with him and to spend her life with him, as she deeply loved who he was.
It was a really frightening experience to be so vulnerable with him, especially because I didn’t know if he wanted the same future as me – things like having children or getting married again.
We discussed it extensively with each other and our therapist until we both felt confident it was the best decision.
Okay, so get this – Jeff Goldblum actually stopped eating meat! Can you believe it? Apparently, working on ‘Wicked: For Good’ and really thinking about how animals are treated just… changed him. He was really affected by the themes in the show, and it made him re-evaluate everything. It’s just… amazing, honestly. A true artist, thinking about these things!
The actor plays the Wizard of Oz in the hit musical, portraying him as a controlling figure who blames others to stay in power. Jeff Goldblum has shared that taking on this villainous role in ‘Wicked’ led him to adopt a vegetarian lifestyle, as the experience profoundly impacted him.
As a huge Jeff Goldblum fan, I was so captivated by what he shared on This Morning! He basically said it’s rare and wonderful to still be getting amazing, fulfilling roles later in your career – roles that feel fresh, exciting, and really resonate. It’s just lovely to hear him talk about continuing to grow and thrive creatively at this point in his life.
Working with director Jon M. Chu has been an incredible experience and really impacted me. After making this film, we discussed the issue of animal cruelty, and it led me to become vegetarian. This year, I’ll be celebrating Christmas and Thanksgiving with a different kind of meal.
‘We need the world to work for everybody on Earth and every creature, too.’
