Paul Wesley, known for his role in The Vampire Diaries, has shared some hints about his next project. He describes it as a thrilling murder mystery with lots of unexpected twists. The show, called You Deserve to Know, will also star Nina Dobrev, who famously worked alongside Wesley on The Vampire Diaries.
This drama is based on Aggie Blum Thompson’s 2025 novel and adapted for the screen by Brian Tanen. It tells the story of three couples living in the suburbs whose close friendships fall apart after one of the husbands is violently killed.
At San Diego Comic-Con, Wesley told Entertainment Weekly that he and Nina Dobrev have remained good friends after working together. He described their relationship as close and friendly.
Wesley said he and Nina Dobrev both enjoyed the new show created by Alex Cooper of Call Her Daddy and her production company, Unwell Network.
We’d been working towards this for a while,” he explained. “We received some offers, but they weren’t the right fit for us.”
