SOL Tests Key $74 Level as Solana Payments Smash $94.32M Record

SOL Tests Key $74 Level as Solana Payments Smash $94.32M Record

Solana’s price is being tested around the $74 mark, and transaction volume from payment cards has hit a new high of $94.32 million. This suggests more people are starting to use the Solana network.

Solana is holding a critical line in the sand near $74.

The price of the token is currently moving within a symmetrical triangle, according to chart analysis. Traders are watching closely for a potential breakout as the trading range gets smaller.

As a crypto investor, I was really excited to see Solana’s payments network had a fantastic month! They just broke records with consumer card top-ups reaching a whopping $94.32 million in May 2026 – an all-time high. It’s great news for the ecosystem and shows increasing real-world adoption.

SOL Price Action Signals a Coming Move

Cryptographic analyst spotted a significant pattern in Solana’s (SOL) price chart: a symmetrical triangle. The price is now hovering around the $74 mark, which has recently acted as a floor preventing further declines.

The price of SOL is currently in a tight trading range, forming a symmetrical triangle pattern on the chart. It’s now approaching a key support level around $74.

The market is becoming more stable, and I anticipate a significant price change in the near future. If the price successfully bounces off the current support level, it could rise back to between $78 and $80. However, a…

The price is currently ranging between $78 and $80, with sellers consistently appearing at the upper end of this range. This push and pull has created a pattern where prices make lower highs and higher lows, which often signals that a significant price movement is coming.

Momentum indicators are adding to the picture.

As a crypto investor, I’m watching the RSI right now, and it’s dipped down to about 39. This tells me that the recent selling isn’t as intense as it was, but it doesn’t necessarily mean things are about to turn around just yet – it’s just a sign that the pressure is letting off a little.

As I’m watching Solana, I’m seeing a key level around $74. If we get a bounce there, I’d expect a move back up towards $78 to $80. However, if the price falls below $74, that could signal further downside, potentially confirming a breakdown from the current triangle pattern.

According to CoinGecko, Solana (SOL) was last trading at $73.73, with $1.11 billion worth of the cryptocurrency traded in the last 24 hours.

The token’s price has increased slightly over the last 24 hours, up by 0.08%. However, it’s down 1.04% over the past week. This weekly decrease suggests the price is currently being tested at a support level, and hasn’t been able to break higher.

Solana Triangle Pattern Points to a Decision Point

Chart watchers describe the current setup as a decision point for Solana

When a chart pattern forms a triangle and gets smaller, the space between the support and resistance levels decreases. This usually signals that the price is about to make a significant move in one direction when it finally breaks through either the support or resistance level.

If the price clearly breaks above the $78-$80 range, it suggests the price will likely continue to rise. Conversely, if the price falls below approximately $74, it signals a potential for further decline.

As of now, neither of these potential outcomes has happened. Traders are closely watching the $74 price point to see whether Solana (SOL) will go up or down.

Solana Payments Volume Hits New Heights

While the chart tells one story, Solana’s payments ecosystem is telling another.

Solana saw record spending on its network in the spring of 2026, with consumers using cards to purchase a total that was higher than ever before. In May alone, users added $94.32 million to their accounts – the highest monthly amount seen so far.

As an analyst, I’m seeing strong evidence that Solana is truly bringing crypto payments into everyday use. We’ve observed a significant increase in consumer card volume, hitting a new all-time high in Q2 2026. Specifically, top-ups reached $94.32 million in May, demonstrating growing adoption and real-world utility.

A chart from PaymentsCan, included with the post, shows the expected monthly spending on crypto cards from 2024 to 2026.

Activity remained low until mid-2024, after which it increased quickly in 2025. Growth reached its highest point between April and May of 2026, exceeding $94 million, then decreased a little during June and July.

The chart shows KAST accounts for the biggest portion of the total, while Solayer, a Solana-based program, represents a smaller, noticeable amount.

Data shows more people are actually using crypto debit cards for everyday purchases, beyond just trying to profit from quick changes in cryptocurrency prices – like those seen with networks such as Solana.
