Do People Interested in XRP Actually Care About Ripple?

Do People Interested in <a href="https://bbg-news.com/xrp-usd/">XRP</a> Actually Care About <a href="https://jpygbp.com/xrp-usd/">Ripple</a>?

If you follow cryptocurrency discussions on platforms like Crypto X (formerly Twitter) or Reddit – and many of us do – you’ll probably notice a recurring theme when it comes to XRP and the company that created it.

Ripple is growing through new licenses, partnerships, and approvals – they’re even buying other companies! However, most of the conversation online centers around the price of XRP, its cryptocurrency. This raises a question: are people interested in Ripple as a company, or just hoping for another surge in XRP’s value?

Ripple Keeps Growing

Before we share what we’ve discovered, we want to quickly acknowledge that not all members of the XRP community may agree with our findings. The XRP community is large and very passionate, and we want to be respectful of everyone’s opinions.

Ripple has experienced significant growth recently. Despite facing a lawsuit from the SEC and even considering closing its doors in the past, the company successfully launched its own stablecoin almost two years ago, and it’s now worth an impressive $1.6 billion.

Ripple has made significant investments in building tools and services for institutions, including buying Hidden Road (now Ripple Prime) and other companies. They’ve also expanded into tokenized assets, created AI tools for developers working with the XRP Ledger, and continued to improve international payment solutions.

This company has evolved beyond just processing payments. It now works with stablecoins, digital asset storage, tokenization, institutional financial services, and tools for developers. The years 2025 and 2026 were particularly busy and successful, marking a period of significant growth and expansion.

However, nearly all of these announcements didn’t cause the price of the asset to change right away.

Retail Investors Still Obsessed by XRP Only

Even with all the recent changes, XRP’s price surged when news broke that Gary Gensler would be leaving his position at the SEC, signaling a likely resolution to their long-running legal battle. The price hit its high point just over a year ago, and has been declining steadily since. The launch of ETFs in November, which were expected to boost the price, didn’t deliver the anticipated gains.

From my perspective as an analyst, many investors see Ripple primarily through the lens of its cryptocurrency, XRP. They aren’t investing in Ripple *the company* by buying stock – they’re acquiring XRP tokens directly. Consequently, these investors are very focused on short-term impacts; if a new banking partnership doesn’t immediately drive up demand for XRP, or if developments like RLUSD don’t quickly translate into price increases, they tend to lose interest.

This helps explain why news about the Ripple company itself doesn’t usually create as much buzz as changes in XRP’s price, large purchases by big investors, or analyses of its trading patterns. We’ve observed this pattern directly.

Although Ripple and XRP are closely linked, they operate independently in a way that allows Ripple to earn income separate from XRP’s performance, and XRP’s price can increase based on its own merits – not just what Ripple does.

Data from searches, social media buzz, and actual trades show that people are much more interested in XRP – the cryptocurrency – than in Ripple, the company behind it.
