BUZZ is different from typical work tools because it gives each AI assistant a unique, secure digital identity and manages what it’s allowed to do. This allows AI agents to independently review code, run authorized tasks, participate in conversations, and keep a record of its work, just like a human employee.
Bradley Axen, who leads AI development at Block, believes future workplaces will be built around humans and AI working side-by-side. He says Block is focused on creating an open platform for this kind of collaboration, rather than a closed, company-specific system.
BUZZ works with a variety of powerful language models, including OpenAI’s Codex and Anthropic’s Claude Code, as well as others. This means organizations aren’t tied to a single AI provider and can choose the best model for their needs.
Nostr Powers Decentralized Identity and Open Collaboration

They’re building something that could fundamentally change how we manage identity online – not just for people like me investing in crypto, but also for AI. Basically, everyone gets their own secure digital key, and that key controls your identity, who has access to what, and even your reputation across different platforms built on Nostr. The system keeps a secure and detailed record of everything that happens – including messages, automated tasks, code changes, and repository activity – providing full transparency. It’s also open source with an Apache 2.0 license, meaning developers are free to customize it, run their own version, or even build commercial applications based on it.
BUZZ can be run on a company’s own servers, or Block offers a managed hosting option at buzz.xyz. This first release includes apps for Windows, Mac, and Linux computers, but mobile apps are still being built.
This new launch shows Dorsey’s continued commitment to building a decentralized internet, even after leaving Twitter. He’s invested in several projects built on Nostr, like the messaging app Bitchat, and champions open-source options as alternatives to traditional social media platforms.
