Netflix recently published its ‘What We Watched’ report, detailing viewing habits from January to June 2026. The thriller His & Hers, featuring Marvel actors Tessa Thompson and Jon Bernthal, topped the list as the most-watched show on the platform, surpassing even two series based on the works of Harlan Coben.
Based on Alice Feeney’s 2020 novel, His & Hers is a story about a couple going through a difficult separation who find themselves investigating a murder back in their hometown. As they dig deeper, they start to wonder if the other is responsible.
Okay, so here’s the deal with this new show: it centers around a divorced couple. They used to be married, but now they barely speak! To make things even more complicated, one of them is a detective and the other is a journalist, and there’s been a murder. The really juicy part? They both think the other person did it, so they’re racing against each other to figure out who actually committed the crime – while secretly trying to clear their own name! It sounds like a total rollercoaster.
The show was the most-watched program for the first six months of the year, reaching 104 million viewers. Season 4 of Bridgerton came in second with 100 million views – almost three times more than any previous season of the popular series.
I was really surprised to see Harlan Coben’s I Will Find You come in third with a huge 64 million views! And right behind it at number four was the fifth and final season of Stranger Things, racking up 56 million views. I can’t believe how popular both of those were!
What to Read Next
Harlan Coben’s Run Away ranked fifth with 50 million views, and Teach You A Lesson was close behind in sixth place with 48 million. Season two of One Piece came in seventh (47 million), while the first season of Man on Fire landed at 40 million viewers.
Rounding out the top ten were season one of Ms. Rachel at number nine (37 million viewers) and season three of The Night Agent in tenth place (36 million viewers).
Digital Spy gave the show His & Hers three stars, calling it a thrilling and addictive series with a truly shocking twist – one of the best they’ve seen in a long time.
We noted that the show His & Hers centers around women with varying moral codes, which creates a sense of balance. This allows viewers to overlook its flaws—it’s enjoyable to watch characters you don’t necessarily like, especially when the show isn’t trying to be realistic.
While His & Hers is well-made and features a talented cast, it’s not aiming to be high-quality, serious drama—and surprisingly, that’s perfectly okay for what the show is trying to achieve.
His & Hers is available on Netflix.
