Taylor Swift is writing a new song for the upcoming Toy Story 5 movie. After recently releasing her album, The Life of a Showgirl, the singer of ‘Cruel Summer’ will release ‘I Knew It, I Knew You’ as part of the Disney and Pixar film.
Taylor Swift and Jack Antonoff collaborated on a new song that will be available starting June 5th, just before the movie comes out on June 19th.
Fans can now pre-order the single on Taylor Swift’s website. There are three different CD versions available, each including the new song, an acoustic recording, and a piano version.
Taylor Swift announced on Instagram that her new original song, “I Knew It, I Knew You,” will be released on June 5th. The song is for Disney and Pixar’s Toy Story 5! She hinted at the connection with a Toy Story emoji, confirming fans’ suspicions.
Ever since I was a little kid watching the original Toy Story, I’ve dreamed of writing stories about these characters. I was incredibly excited when I got a sneak peek at Toy Story 5 and immediately felt inspired to write this song. It just clicked – I knew I had to!
The new song is inspired by the character Jessie from the upcoming Toy Story 5, continuing a storyline that started in Toy Story 2. It also represents a return to Taylor Swift’s country music beginnings, combining elements of the sound that have made her a successful songwriter and artist.
