This year marks a major milestone for The Legend of Zelda franchise, as it celebrates its 40th anniversary. From its humble beginnings with simple graphics on the Famicom Disk System and Nintendo Entertainment System, the series has become a true icon in video game history.
As a huge Nintendo fan, I’m really excited about the upcoming announcements to celebrate this special occasion! We haven’t gotten much info yet, but things are finally starting to happen. They just revealed a new line of products that look amazing – I definitely want to get my hands on them, although it looks like collecting them all might be a little pricey!
Nintendo of Japan recently announced two new product releases on their official Twitter/X account. Here’s what they shared:
A new set of ‘Escape: The Legend of Zelda’ puzzles, featuring the Hylian Shield and Kabadna’s Signboard, will be available from Hanayama on April 25th. Why not give them a try?
These new puzzles are part of the Huzzle line, officially licensed metal brain-teasers designed by Hanayama and Nintendo together. You can also now purchase editions themed after The Triforce, the Emblem of Hyrule, and the Master Sword.
Okay, so each individual item isn’t too bad – around 3630 Yen, which was about $20 when I checked. But here’s the thing: collecting the whole set quickly jumps over $100, and honestly, that’s not even the end of the cost if you’re a completionist like me. There are still more expenses to consider!
These products are currently only sold in the Japanese store and shipped within Japan. This means customers outside of Japan – like those in the UK or US – can’t order directly from the store. While you can use a shipping service to receive the item in Japan and then send it to you, the total cost, including shipping and service fees, can end up being four or five times the original price.
It looks like there’s plenty more Zelda to come! The movie is still being made, and rumors suggest exciting new games are on the way. Fans are hoping for a remake of Ocarina of Time, and the first Zelda game built specifically for the new Switch 2 console. The next few years could be fantastic for Zelda fans.
