The newest Rambo movie is scheduled to come out next year. Officially titled John Rambo, the film – a prequel to the earlier movies – will be released between two other highly anticipated franchise installments.
Lionsgate has announced that the next John Rambo movie will be released on June 4, 2027. They shared the news on social media with a look at the film’s logo, confirming it will be shown in theaters. This puts it shortly after Disney’s Star Wars: Starfighter (May 28) and before Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse (June 11). Also in June, Warner Bros.’ Oceans prequel is scheduled for release on June 25.
The upcoming film, John Rambo, tells the story of the character before the events of the original 1982 movie, First Blood, which made Sylvester Stallone a star. Noah Centineo, known for The Recruit, will play a young John Rambo, and David Harbour from Stranger Things will appear as Major Troutman. The cast also includes Yao (from Sinners), James Franco (known for Spider-Man), Jason Tobin (A Thousand Blows), Quincy Isaiah (Winning Time: The Rise of the Lakers Dynasty), Jefferson White (Yellowstone), and Tayme Thapthimthong (The White Lotus).
