Quentin Tarantino’s New Version Of 22-Year-Old Crime Thriller Is Now An American Streaming Hit

Quentin Tarantino is topping the streaming charts with a new version of one of his classics.

Quentin Tarantino first gained attention with his 1992 film, Reservoir Dogs, and then achieved widespread success with Pulp Fiction in 1994. He’s remained a highly respected and popular director ever since. His most recent film was Once Upon a Time in Hollywood (2019), and he’s stated that his next project will be his last. While fans wait for his final film, a remastered version of one of his earlier movies is currently gaining popularity on streaming platforms.

After a successful run in theaters last year, Kill Bill is now available to stream on Peacock, where it’s currently the fourth most popular movie. It’s performing better than films like The Marsh King’s Daughter and Boss Baby, but isn’t as popular as The Secret Life of Pets, Another Man’s Wife, and the current number one movie, The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare.

Despite first showing at the Cannes Film Festival in 2004, the movie The Whole Bloody Affair wasn’t released in U.S. theaters until December 5th of last year. Lionsgate distributed the film, which is quite long, running for over four and a half hours – the longest version clocks in at four hours and forty-one minutes.

In the action thriller The Whole Bloody Affair, Uma Thurman plays a skilled assassin on a mission to avenge those who betrayed her. The film also features performances by Vivica A. Fox, Lucy Liu, David Carradine, Julie Dreyfus, Daryl Hannah, and Michael Madsen.

Both Kill Bill films were popular when they came out, and The Whole Bloody Affair is proving to be just as successful. It currently has a perfect 100% rating from critics on Rotten Tomatoes, and audiences overwhelmingly love it too, with a 99% score.

Most reviews of The Whole Bloody Affair highlight it as the definitive cut of Tarantino’s Kill Bill saga, blending Vol. 1 and Vol. 2 into a cohesive whole. Critics lauded the original films for their creative and over-the-top action and Tarantino’s distinctive filmmaking style. The Whole Bloody Affair builds on that praise, presenting a satisfying and complete story arc for Uma Thurman’s character, The Bride.

Despite its lengthy runtime, Kill Bill: The Whole Bloody Affair was highly regarded in theaters. Now, it seems audiences are enjoying the film just as much while streaming it on Peacock.
