HoYoverse might be going all out with four new game projects, including an MOBA, an MMO, a Co-op Sandbox, and a Shooter

Story Highlights

  • HoYoverse project descriptions reveal four possible new games in development.
  • New projects join an already stacked future lineup including Nexus Anima and Petit Planet.

HoYoverse has a lot of exciting games planned for 2026 and the years following. Titles like Honkai: Nexus Anima and the relaxing life-sim Petit Planet are already generating buzz, and there’s also anticipation for Versapura. But what if there are actually four more games in development that we don’t know about yet?

Honestly, I was just as shocked when details started popping up online about what HoYoverse is working on! It looks like they’ve got four totally different games in early development. We’re talking a social MMO where you build a life, a proper MOBA built in Unreal Engine 5, a fantasy co-op game where you can really explore and build with friends, and even a realistic military sci-fi shooter! It’s an incredible lineup, and I can’t wait to find out more about each of them.

Diving deep into the four upcoming HoYoverse projects: Quite ambitious and exciting

Thanks to information shared on X (formerly Twitter) by Star Rail Universe, we now know details about one of four new projects in development. The project, currently known as the Lifestyle MMO Pre-research Project, is a multiplayer game focused on social interaction, player freedom, and simulating real-life activities, and will also incorporate artificial intelligence.

This game seems to let you play as different versions of your own character and connect with friends in a vibrant online world. It also uses artificial intelligence to enhance the experience. Many believe it’s connected to the recent “Nodusfall” trademark, which described a game with very similar features.

A recent project description details a 3D multiplayer online battle arena (MOBA) game built in Unreal Engine 5. It promises balanced competition, player-versus-player battles with multiple characters, and a visual style inspired by the American West. This aligns with earlier reports from March 2026 suggesting that HoYoverse was developing a MOBA game using Unreal Engine 5.

The third project seems to be a fantasy sandbox game built in Unreal Engine 5, designed for players to team up and explore a world powered by artificial intelligence. While details are scarce, AI is a key focus. The last project is a realistic shooter, also using UE5, with a military sci-fi setting, challenging gameplay, and a strong emphasis on technology.

I noticed a common thread in all four projects: they all utilized the “AI+” development language. This makes sense, considering recent news that HoYoverse intends to invest approximately $14.6 billion in AI development over the next three years.

It’s still unclear if these are initial tests or fully released games, but it’s obvious the projects are very ambitious. The variety of genres described is impressive, and the mention of a MOBA game is particularly exciting – it suggests we could see a new competitor in that popular market.
