ITV has given fans a sneak peek at the upcoming season of the comedy series G’wed. The show, which is set in Liverpool, centers around the lives of a group of teens and is returning for a third season soon.
A new trailer has been released, giving viewers a preview of what’s to come. It also introduces Jennifer Ellison (known from Brookside), who plays Aimee’s mother, Anna, and will dramatically change Aimee’s life.
The show’s creators have hinted that the upcoming episodes will be even more humorous and daring than before. They promise to tackle important issues like the refugee crisis and women’s sports, and will also feature a returning character dealing with life while managing obsessive-compulsive disorder.

The returning cast includes Dylan Thomas-Smith as Reece, Jake Kenny-Byrne as Christopher, Max Ainsworth as Connor, Dominic Murphy as Ted, Zak Douglas as Mo, Gemma Barraclough as Mia-Louise, and Evie Ward-Drummond as The Brimble.
The show G’wed premiered over two years ago and was quickly picked up for two additional seasons, with the second season released last year.

ITV’s head of comedy, Nana Hughes, shared her excitement about the positive response to G’wed, noting its success on ITVX, ITV1, and ITV2. She praised creator Danny Kenny’s writing, saying it was brilliantly funny and emotionally moving, effortlessly switching between hilarious moments and genuinely touching scenes.
The show has become popular quickly, with one IMDb reviewer calling it “brilliant” and “a great little program.” They also praised the cast, especially Reece and his mother, noting the authentic portrayal of Scouse culture – the reviewer themselves is from Liverpool.

They’re all incredibly talented actors – really funny when they need to be, and genuinely moving too. I’m so excited to see a comedy set in Liverpool finally!
The show tackles difficult and often debated topics with humor, warmth, and honesty. It’s refreshing to see a comedy that isn’t afraid to take risks – many British sitcoms tend to be too cautious and ultimately unremarkable, in my view.
G’wed seasons 1-2 are streaming now on ITVX. Season 3 is coming soon.
