Story Highlights

  • Multiple heroes including Argus, Hirara and Masha are buffed in this patch.
  • Lots of Control, UI and battlefield optimizations are showcased in this patch.

The newest update to Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB), Patch 2.1.84, is now available on the Advanced Server. It includes changes to several heroes – some will be strengthened – and also tweaks to the game’s systems and battlefields.

This update primarily includes changes to heroes – with some receiving improvements – along with adjustments to the game’s battlefield and overall system. Let’s take a detailed look at Mobile Legends Patch 2.1.84.

Mobile Legends Patch 2.1.84 Update: Hero Adjustments

This update uses arrows to show changes: an upward arrow (↑) means a hero has been buffed (made stronger), a downward arrow (↓) indicates a nerf (made weaker), and a tilde (~) shows an adjustment or other change. The heroes most affected by these changes are Balmond, Eudora, and Hirara, all of whom have been buffed.

Argus (Adjusted)

The devs aim to give experienced Argus players advantages more practically.

Ultimate ability (~)

  • Removed Effect: Actively casting the Ultimate reduces its cooldown by 30%.
  • Cooldown: 60s-50s >>> 42s-35s
  • Eternal Evil Auto-Trigger Duration: 4s >>> 3s

Balmond (Buffed)

Skill 2 (↑)

Total Physical Attack Bonus for Damage: 20% >>> 25%

Edith (Buffed)

Slightly increased the hero’s mid to late game mobility.

Skill 2 (↑)

Cooldown: 10s at all levels >>> 10-8s

Eudora (Buffed)

The devs have adjusted Eudora’s Skill 1 to make triggering lightning chains easier.

Passive (↑)

Superconductor Duration: 3s >>> 5s

Skill 1 (↑)

Cooldown Reduction from Delayed Damage: 1.5s >>> half of the skill’s cooldown

Hirara (Buffed)

Passive (↑)

Damage to Minions: (30 + 3* Hero Level)% >>> (30 + 4* Hero Level)%

Skill 1 (↑)

Cooldown: 8.5s-5s >>> 7.8s-5s

Skill 2 (↑)

Crimson Maple damage has been adjusted from 160-265 (+53%-88% bonus physical attack) to 165-270 (+55%-90% bonus physical attack).

Masha (Buffed)

We’re making some changes to the game so Masha can more easily transform into her Feral state, while still keeping the experience exciting for players.

Passive (~)

When a character takes damage (a ‘Wound’), it gets bigger. If a Wound is triggered, the character enters a ‘Feral’ state for 3 seconds, changing their next three normal attacks into wide-reaching claw strikes. This effect can stack up to six times, meaning it can happen multiple times consecutively.

Skill 2 (↑)

  • New Effect: Resets Skill 2 each time an HP bar is depleted.
  • Damage: 120-240 (+120% Total Physical Attack) >>> 240-440 (+60% Total Physical Attack)

Odette (Adjusted)

The development team has updated Odette’s Ultimate ability so it can’t be stopped or canceled if she’s stunned or otherwise unable to move.

Skill 1 (↑)

Movement Speed Reduction: 30% >>> 40%

Ultimate (~)

  • Removed Effect: Leaps to the target location on cast.
  • Movement Slowed: 90% >>> 20%

Ruby (Adjusted)

Reverted some of her damage back to Spell Vamp.

Passive Attributes and adjustments (~)

  • Base Spell Vamp Ratio: 60% >>> 75%

Skill 1 (↓)

  • Scythe Damage: 280-480 (+120% Total Physical Attack) >>> 280-480 (+100% Total Physical Attack)
  • Shockwave Damage: 140-240 (+60% Total Physical Attack) >>> 140-240 (+50% Total Physical Attack)

Zhuxin (Nerfed)

Hey everyone, so the developers have been keeping a close eye on Zhuxin, and honestly, she’s been dominating in Ranked and pro play. To bring things into balance, they’re making her Skill 2 cost a bit more. It’s a tweak to make sure she’s still strong, but not too strong, you know?

Passive (↑)

Mana Regen from Each Crimson Butterfly: 3% >>> 4%

Skill 2 (↓)

Mana Cost: 45 >>> 75

Mobile Legends Patch 2.1.84 Update: Battlefield and System Adjustment on the Advanced server

Battlefield Adjustment

A. Equipment Adjustment

Berserker’s Fury (↑)

As a player, I’m really glad they’ve tweaked the damage! It feels much better now – heroes in the front lines take noticeably more damage, which makes sense, but they didn’t overdo it and squishy heroes in the back still feel safe. It’s a nice balance adjustment.

  • Physical Attack: 65 >>> 60
  • Crit Damage: 40% >>> 30%
  • Unique Passive – Doom (Reworked): When Basic Attacks Crit, they deal extra True Damage equal to 12% of the damage before reduction.
Great Dragon Spear (~)

We’ve kept the special features of the Great Dragon Spear, but updated the equipment to match the official server. The new Passive ability has been moved to Berserker’s Fury.

Roaming Blessing – Conceal (↑)

Cooldown: 80s >>> 60s

Roaming Blessing – Dire Hit (↑)

Movement Distance for 1 Stack of Force: 2 >>> 1

B. New Battlefield Effects

Hey everyone, awesome news! We’re bringing back those cool battlefield effects, but we’ve really polished them up. We took all your feedback from the last test seriously and made some optimizations and visual upgrades. Here’s what you can expect to see in this patch:

Nowhere to Hide:

Throughout the map, you can find glowing wisps. When you collect one, it will orbit your character for a few seconds. If any enemy heroes are hidden nearby, the wisp will fly towards them, briefly revealing their location.

After considering everyone’s input, we’ve decided to maintain the five available spaces, but we’ve made small adjustments to where they’re located to improve the experience for all users.

Fire Turtle:

Okay, so they changed the Fire Turtle! It’s now called the Healing Turtle, and it doesn’t give you a shield anymore when you beat it. Instead, it spawns a friendly Turtle on the enemy’s most powerful lane to help us push. The best part? If any of our heroes hang out near that friendly Turtle, we heal super fast! It’s a total game changer for team fights and taking objectives.

Golden Turret:

The team now receives significantly more Gold when a Turret is destroyed. To balance this, the health of both Inner and Base Turrets has been increased.

C. Control UI Optimizations and Mythical Honor Battlefield Optimizations

You can now customize the user interface during matches, and your changes will apply instantly. We’re also working on significant improvements for the Mythical Honor rank in Battlefield.

With more players and heroes in Mobile Legends: Bang Bang, the developers are trying a new way to balance the game. They’re making small changes to hero stats, but only in the Mythical Honor Battlefield (the highest rank). This is to encourage players to use a wider variety of heroes in competitive matches without changing the game for everyone else.

To help with testing on the Advanced Server, the Honor Battlefield is now open to players at the Master rank. This change also adds an extra cooldown to the abilities of certain heroes, including Alpha, Edith, Melissa, Vale, and Dyrotth.

D. Vision Optimizations

The developers have improved how the game handles delays when visibility changes as you move in and out of bushes, making the experience smoother and more predictable.

  • Entering a bush (Optimized): When a hero enters a bush with no enemies nearby, they will disappear from enemy vision immediately.
  • Leaving a bush (New Effect): If two allied heroes are in the same bush and one leaves, the hero remaining inside will remain visible to enemies for an extra 330ms.

System Adjustments

A. Namecard Feature

The devs have added the Main Hero Namecard. You can now show off stats for your best heroes!

B. Chat Channel

The developers have improved the Public Chat channel by removing messages that weren’t about the Advanced Server.

C. In-match Likes

We’ve made some changes to how likes appear during matches to make them less distracting. Notifications are now more see-through, and we’ve improved the visual feedback when you get multiple likes in a row – they’ll stay on screen a bit longer now. Plus, if you react to a teammate’s good play and they like you back, you’ll see a special fist-bump notification!

D. Offline Mode Experience Optimization
