You can now stream the complete Australian crime drama, The Family Next Door, on ITVX. It was announced in March that the show would arrive in May, and it premiered on the platform on May 17th. The series is full of secrets and explores intense obsessions.
This six-episode TV series, adapted from Sally Hepworth’s novel, centers on Isabelle (Teresa Palmer) who moves to a quiet street in an Australian coastal town called Pleasant Court. She quickly becomes fascinated by her neighbors, but soon discovers their seemingly perfect lives are full of hidden secrets and deception.
The show stars alongside Palmer, with Catherine McClements (known for Return to Paradise), Jane Harber (Offspring), and Daniel Henshall (Snowtown) also featuring in the cast.
Premiering on ABC in 2025, The Family Next Door delves into the ups and downs of being a mother, the complexities of marriage, the importance of friendship, and difficult family relationships. While it doesn’t have an official score on Rotten Tomatoes, viewers have generally enjoyed the show, with some calling it a “thrilling watch” and praising the actors’ performances as “exceptional”.
Many viewers found the show captivating and surprising. One person specifically praised the ending, calling it conclusive and fulfilling, with all storylines resolved and no cliffhangers left for a potential second season.

ITVX recently added both The Family Next Door and The Affair. The Affair, starring Ruth Wilson (known from Luther) and Dominic West (The Crown), premiered on Showtime in 2014 and previously aired on Sky Atlantic. The show centers on the affair between Alison Bailey (Wilson) and Noah Solloway (West), and the consequences that follow.
The Affair was a critical and popular success. It earned a 90% rating on Rotten Tomatoes and won the Golden Globe for Best Television Series – Drama in 2015. Viewers also loved the show, with many calling it one of the best TV dramas ever made.
You can currently stream all three seasons of The Affair on ITVX. Season 4 will be added this summer, and season 5 is expected to arrive in 2027.
