Looking for a gripping, dark comedy thriller? The Apple TV+ series Maximum Pleasure Guaranteed might be perfect for you. It follows Paula, a recently divorced mother played by Tatiana Maslany (known from She-Hulk: Attorney at Law), as she gets caught up in a web of blackmail, murder, and the surprisingly intense world of youth soccer.
Paula believes she’s seen a crime, and while dealing with a difficult custody fight and questioning who she is, she decides to investigate it herself. This investigation might expose a larger plot and could also help her reclaim her family and rediscover herself.

The series was created by David J. Rosen and features Murray Bartlett (known for The Last of Us), Jake Johnson (New Girl), Brandon Flynn (13 Reasons Why), Kiarra Hamagami Goldberg (Charmed), and Dolly de Leon (Triangle of Sadness).
The show has been well-received, with Collider praising its unpredictable plot and star Tatiana Maslany’s captivating performance. They describe it as a compelling and addictive series that keeps you guessing who you can actually trust.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Maximum Pleasure Guaranteed doesn’t quite deliver complete satisfaction, but that’s intentional. The film seems to realize that the best way to keep an audience engaged is to leave them wanting just a little bit more.
However, a review in Radio Times was less positive, finding the series “hard to get invested in.” While acknowledging it had some enjoyable moments, the review stated that without a strong enough central premise, the show risked being ignored and quickly forgotten.
